Targeting Helps
According to the wise if I disable a ship its good bacuse the new waves take a little longer to arrive.
I hit my TAB key which gives me a target - I then hit my [ key and battle him to disabled. And then I hit ...... well I hit , -nothing, I hit ; nothing - and while my shield disintegrates I frantically seach for my attacker and use the X key to target the nearest asteroid. Then X again and again - I get him and go to work until he is diabled and then .....
Any one have a better way than this?
Missile Helps.
I have two missile launchers and one always runs out b4 the other. I hit button 3 on my joy stick - out of ammo - hit it again - not locked on target - again - sometimes a missile fires - sometimes I get out of ammo - sometimes I get not locked.
How do thse missle things work?
Gun Help.
I have level 5 cert - 3222 now - whats a good combo for guns on my new x-wing? I seem to get through my Cap enerygy quite quickly.
Helps much appreciated.
Keymapping is your friend. The targeting keys I use are "Target under reticle" and "Target ship that last fired on you". This makes it easy to switch targets to the person shooting at you. As for the missing, etc... that appears to be some serious lag issues. I've been on a targets rear, so close that it fills up most of my screen and still appear to be missing 90% of the time lol.
on missle locking you need to actually have the target directly in your sights for several seconds before you can get a lock. if you have multiple missle launchers then you probably have it setup to fire and switch launchers. If this is the case then every time you pull the trigger it will switch launchers regardless of if you actually fired or not. So if you shoot a missle from launcher1 then it will automatically switch to launcher2, if you pull the trigger again but are not locked then, you go back to launcher1 without fireing a missle from launcher2. If this happens a couple times it can easily throw of evenly balanced missle packs. You can either adjust this to function manually, or simply make sure your locked onto your targets prior to firing
