Probably the most logical next series of player ship are those already in existence in-game such as the Rebel Gunboat, the Imperial Gunboat, and the third type of gunboat seen by few pilots who roam Dathomir space near the Last Nav (Deep Space) Station, the "Hammerhead" Witchblood or some factional NPC that operates a very deadly gunboat that takes quite some time to destroy. Those seem the most logical "3" for rebel, Imp, and Freelance in terms of gunboat.
For transport, the most logical seem to me the Coreillian Corevette for the Rebels, the Lambda shuttle for the Imperials or the Imperial Star Destroyer, and a Transport ship such as a civillian transport or some type for the Freelance.
Now the Rebels have space stations but the Imperials don't so how about a Death star with a working laser so Imperials can destroy Rebel space stations and the planet Lok with all rebel scum on it (Bloodfin especially). For Rebels a nice proton missle pack with like 100K max damage to destroy Imperial Death stars...ohh how one can dream!!!

You havent seen the Cylindrical space stations in just about every system called "Imperial Station"?
