Hi.. I was thinking about changing my template once again..

After many encounters in this broken system we call PvP I Think I should reconsider my template.. Maybe..

Please give me your thoughts and advice, really looking for different views here.

ADVthanksANCE

Template in Review:
Master Rifleman [speed capped with +9 accuracy while moving]
xxx4 - Marksman [aim/posture down]
1xxx - Scout [to help me kite since I seem to die in range of any melee]
xxxx - Brawler [I can't even hit them unless they are intimidated, and I need to warcrythemwhen they get in range so I can run away]
4x3x - Doctor [heal dots/states/2000+ heals]
3xxx - Force Accuracy [hey anything helps]

My Current template is:
Master Rifleman
Master Doctor
xxx4 - Marksman
3xxx - Force Accuracy

1. Do you think I'd notice a difference with brawler and scout and is it worth dropping doc for?

2. Do you see a better way to spend my points to counter act this borked pvp system but still be viable in PvE?

Here is how I was going to setup my toolbar, you thoughts on that too please...
.1 Strafe2
.2 HeadShot3
.3 Loot/Sniper [macro]
.4 MindShot2 [macro 1&2]
.5 Warcry [macro/repeat]
.6 SuppressionShot1 [posture down]
.7 FlurryShot2 [dizzy]
.8 FlushingShot2 [stun]
.9 Intimidate [cuts defenses in 1/2?]
10 HealFriend [help out my buddy macro]
11 HealState [macro/repeat?]
12 HealDamage [and dump all looping macros and clear combat queue]

The bottom row is like all guns and foods and armors and speeders lol...

Thanks =)

[note] I have a alt who is a doc so keeping doc for just convient buffs isn't a valid consern for me

I am rifleman/tkm/0440 fencer/novice medic and I seem to do pretty well. Only major problem I have is with DoT weapons, particularly fire, but most of the places I pvp in have large bodies of water so I'm all set

I would like to take a minute to point out that anything I may have written in the above post in no way reflects badly on SOE or any of its affiliates, and in fact I am ecstatic and overjoyed that I am able to participate in such a well-programmed, bug-free, and engaging game with such wonderful and helpful forums moderated by such fine and upstanding people. Please don't permaban my account. Thankyou.

I am currently Storm Squadron 2-2-2-2 and trying to do the first tier 3 mission. I've tried ( and failed ) so many times. It's not so much that the mission is hard, it's just so long. The mission takes over an hour and then at the end there's so many A-Wings and some Tier 4 ships that aren't even part of my mission, they all gank me. I've had friends come along and help but it's also hard to convince a good amount of people to devote over an hour of playing to help your mission. Plus I've expierenced some CTD's and the typical 'You have gone too far from the transport' crap. I'm not whining, yes I'm upset because of the immense length of time wasted, I am using Overcharge 3, which works great. But my patience is running thin.

Is it worth it to continue ? Do Rebel / Freelance players have missions this difficult / long ? Do the Storm Squadron missions get harder AND longer? I need to make a decision b/c I'm going nuts. Thanks.

You are stuck on of the three tough/long missions from SS. This one made me take a break and go to tempest and master corsec before I came back to scylla and finished it.I soloed this mission after many, many failures. It was the last mission I soloed in SS.

You need to be using engine, weapon, reactor and capacitor overload programs and captoshieldstunt. Disabling enemies is vital, don't worry about killing them for xp/loot. I believe at the end of the mission you have to dock with your targ while under fire, the enemies will just keep on spawning and once you finish the final docking, they will stop.

As for non-mission targs, sometimes it can't be avoided, but most times by having your radar set out at 8km, you can avoid them by keeping all non-mission red dots on or outside of your red armor ring in the radar.

The next mission is no easier, sorry. You don't need a lot of wingmen, just some to take some of the fire off of you. 2 or 3 wingmen should be more than enough help.

Good luck!

There is a Smuggler Alliance mission, Tier 4 Mission 3 (?), that requires a 45 minute escort. not hard at all... but jeez.. thats a long time to hold station on a freighter.

As said before, disable the ships and move on. That shaves off a bit of time for each fighter and makes things a bit easier. Other than that find some friends to help.

All factions have these rediculous missions. It is insanely frustrating as they are easy as pie to do but you have to spend an hour swatting flies. These missions are about as exciting as watching paint dry. I remember taking out a wave of bogies and then settling in behind the freighter, kicking back and eating a sandwich while I waited for the next wave to come along. In my opinion there are just far too many escorts in general. Why does just about every mission have to end with an escort. I didn't mind doing the escorts, at first it was kind of interesting, but after a while it's just like here we go again another escort. At least if they made them so that they were actually going somewhere like a space station or something they would be a little more interesting. The way they are now they just float around out in the middle of nowhere until some timer goes off and they hyper out.

You should consider yourself luckythough. I was stuck on one of the tier 4 smugglers alliance missions for weeks because it was bugged and the escort actually took so long that the mission timed out on you and failed every time, no matter how fast you destroyed the bogies. At least all of the missions are actually able to be completed now.

Or you could find one Ace pilot in an Oppressor to help you out. If he/she is worth his salt, then he can take care of the mission and you just fly along.

You guys have been helpful, I'll try the disable thing and getting Tier 4 helpers. I just hope they don't get harder / more boring than this. I can't tell you how frustrated I was after an hour to fail the mission. I don't mind hard, but really ... an hour?
