I have not piloted for a week or two but my boosters no longer work. I tried swapping them out and remaping them to no avail. Is this a know problem?

The condition is fine. I find it hard to believe the boosters no longer work on any of my 3 ship.

Ever accidently disable them with an astromechoverload? Albeit that it's just a small chance that you would have disabled just one system on an overload, I suppose it could happen. Do you get a disabled message when trying to use it? Try a power rerouting pilot command (/ethrust, /eweapons, /eshields, etc) and see it that resets them.

Of course, if they're not disabled then disregard this message.

maybe you somehow have a messed up key binding... hit Cntrl+O and go to the option that lets you veiw the controls- make sure that "B" is actually still the button that turns your boosters on... other than that i have no clue.

how are you using the boost button? ive noticed it tends to be querky. sometimes it works if you just tap the button but mostly only if you hold it down.

I think its supposed to work only while holding it down... but maybe you got used to tapping it and it working regardless?

while in space press the "V" key to examine your ships components... maybe they are busted but are not showing as such on the ground?

For me the booster works both ways, you can tap the button and it will run continuously untill depletedso you dont have to hold it, or you can hold the button and it will stop when you let off if you only want a short boost. Sorry cant answer the original question, I been moving and havent flown in a week.

Many thanks, the reboot of the system solved the problem. I seldom reboot and that was it. Boosters work fine now. Thanks again.
