Thread: Question on Freelance alignment

I have a question or two for you Star Wars mythology experts.
In SWG, the Freelance Smuggler's Alliance squadron is rebel aligned. And the Freelance CorSec squadron is nuetral. From the couple novels that I've read, my impression is just the opposite. That CorSec is Rebel aligned and the Smugglers are neutral.
I'll wager that there are some of you that have read every Star Wars novel, and know the mythology better than I. Would you clear up this question for me?
Also, since there are Freelance pilots with Imperial and Rebel alignments, shouldn't they be able to fly some of the Rebel and Imperial ships? Didn't Corrin Horn, of CorSec Rogue Squadron, fly an X-Wing?

privateers are just privateers... hired guns, mercenaries, pirates whatever. Some factions/families lean one way or another towards rebel or imperial or are just in it for themselves.
Most of the rebel fighters are purchased from private corporations and are open for purchase by anyone who can afford them.
Z95s and Ywings are especially wide spread and lots of people use them besides the rebellion.
not so sure about Awings and Bwings tho since those were designed by rebellion people for the rebellion specially.
Same goes for heavy craft like Frigates, Corvettes, gunships, Cruisers, shuttles, etc. But in order to own these kinda things im sure you have to be officially sanctioned by the Empire given their destructive potential.
As for Imperial craft like TIEs... no, that would be like the army giving you an Apache gunship and tell you to go kick some drug runners butts... not gunna happen.

I agree that the choice of Corvette missions probably should have gone with the SA, makes more sense to me, but the missions for both tiers would have to change a bit to reflect that.
