Is it always really hard to find someone with a Falcon type ship, or any ship that a group can get into a grind with? Is there any special way i should go about looking for space grinding groups? XP sometimes take a while, and grinding speeds it up for me. any help?

Don't rely on multiplayer ships. You won't earn parts you need, or skills for later in the game. Go out and pull duty missions from your trainer, you'll be able to knock that XP out quick enough.

The only grind is tier 4, and that's how I learned how to really fly. Thought I was an awesome pilot up until I learned how to fight in tier 4. Group grinding would be cheating yourself.

That being said, I charge 500kper half-hour for someone to ride in my turret, afk or otherwise, on Wanderhome! Send me a g-mail and we can work out a time if anyone's interested! I keep all loot.

Ive been stuck on the Tier 4 grind since... like... well, I got to Tier 4 about two weeks after JtL launch. I guess Im just too lazy. Somehow, I managed to knock 44** out of the way, but the next one seems to be a pretty strenuous grind. I wonder how I managed to grind th eoter two out and not this? Oh yeah, now I remember.... DOUBLE XP! I should have just finished it off then and forgotten about it. Man, I screwed up.

Anyways, this grind is pretty rediculous. I woul dsay its almost as bad as Jedi. Then again, Jedi really isnt that hard..... it just takes a while. Not that Pilot is hard, but, its probably a harder for the simple fact that you actually have to pay attention to what youre doing. I go to Endor space and find a nice littl earea where these Imperial X Wings spawn. Yeah I know, thats murfed. Anyways, theyre Tier 4 ships, and they con Blue, so they wont aggro you. I go out there and take them out one right after another. Best yet, nothing else out there will attack you. Im a Freelance Pilot of course, so that might have somehting to do with it. Sadly, I dotn get any Rebel Faction for it. If I did, then I woul dbe in business. Nice loots though.... sometimes.

Anyways, doing so is pretty easy yes, but its takes forever. I was out there for 2 hours tonight and I didnt even put a dent into the grind. Whats sad is once I finish this one, I have another one to do. YIKES! I think though you get more XP when youre actualyl doing missions, but I could be wrong. The problem is, all the missions I get always pit me up against A-Wings or Z-95s or Tie Agressors. I dont know abotu you huys, but I have a particularly hard time against those things. Not because I suck, but because theyre so blooming fast. Theyre hard to hit. And I will sear to my grave, they have more armor, shield, and weapon performance than the heavier fighters that are supposed to have more. Oh well....

hrm.. well I have 4x experience (factional ace bonuses) but it only takes around 15 minutes to fill a tier 4 box, I find. Try doing duties, as you're already doing by the sounds of it - alternatively Kessel can be good for experience depending on the spawns, and the static spawns in Kashyyyk seem to be pretty effective due to most of them having near-instant respawns (ssshh... chiss poachers near the rodian sector of Kashyyyk.. a veritable xp fountain!)

you should be aiming to knock out a tier 4 box's xp in a little over an hour, depending on your equipment and abilities. hope that helps

Hrm...comparing pilot to jedi is like...shoving sharp objects through my eyeballs...ugh.

The T4 grind isn't that bad. As a first time pilot with no xp bonus and an Inspiration buff you should be able to do it in around an hour on a good duty mission. That will also teach you how to fly in multi ship encounters. Even if you've flown in other flight sims, a lot of the rules are different here.

The big one is that any serious pilot needs to be collecting parts anyway. Why not start now?

Lol, I was just going to say that 1M xp only took me about 1 hour, but I don't have the 4x bonus, so looks like we agree. To the OP, I suggest getting the blacksun (or any pirate) duty mission if you can - no a-wings or aggressors. Target the bombers first though, as if you let them line up a shot, T4 missiles can hurt.

Re: the blacksun, this is the info from the blacksun faq:

Arkon's Havok Duty (any Alliance Pilot)-

The tier4 trainer for Arkons Havok Squad will give a duty for tier4 Black Suns in Dantooine. He is in the Hotel on Lok. Right inside the main entrance of the town, the hotel is right in front of you. This is the best mission for efficient helmet grinding. It is very long, pays well, and Dantooine space is pretty quiet (yeah, maybe not as quiet as when I thought I was in Yavin space, but still not that noisy, if you wish to avoid Imperial entanglements).

RSF Duty (Any Freelance Pilot, Corsec, RSF, Smugglers' Alliance)

The tier4 trainer for the RSF gives a duty against tier4-5 Black Suns in Endor. She is in Theed Palace on Naboo. Near the back of the Palace is a major Hall, with 3 rooms branching on either side. Dimess Imler is in the first room on the right.

Corsec Duty (Any Freelance Pilot)

In the mining outpost on Dantooine, the tier4 Corsec trainer hands out a Capture/return mission versus tier4 Black Sun.

Rebel Pilots... grind near Empire Station II near Endor, plenty of Tier 4s that spawn fast. For Freelancer's it's even better, because they aren't aggro'ed til you shoot em.

I feel an irrational urge to beat you for that comparison.

More to the point, I should have meant that as a comparison to the jedi grind. Space is nothing like it. You can finish T4 in a few evenings of casual play.

How's this for ya, then:

My starfighter is my lightsaber.

My ship components are my krayt pearls.

My piloting is my defensive macro.

My piloting is my ability bonuses.

Space is my endgame.

Actually, my ship is pretty awesome. ive been building and collecting the best stuff I can get my hands on since it was Live lol. I think though my problem is my weapons systems. Theyre definitely something I sort of lack in. Not that they suck, but just that I decked everything else out, and I had to skimp on somehting. Not to worry though. I figured since I didnt need my boosters to grind stuff, I woul dtake them off for now and go at it with 3 weapons active, each doing about 1-2k damage a peice. Wonder how that will hit my capacitor though? Hmmmm.... oh well, mine is pretty good.

Im actually a pretty good pilot. I can handle multiple aggros at once, but it really depends on the crowd. Like I said, the smaller ships are a lot harder for me to attack. Still I manage okay. The problem is Im not getting enough bang for my buck. And I cant tell how much XP I get per kill, because the Devs decided not to let you see what XP you get in chat log anymore.

Anyways... I guess Ill just keep pecking away at it. Im not in any hurry. I mean, Ive been at it for a year. Why start getting in a rush now?
