plz help i cant do this mission how do i use tractor beam to get goods without destrouing ship

make sure sure equip the t b say in weapons slot one and only fire that weapon i had no problem with it

I'm currently having a trouble with this. I put the tractor beam in slot one on my Sex-wing, and when I use it it simply sucks out 500 iron into my inventory, and then blows up, without the mission despawning.
I've got 1.5k iron off retrying it three times though, so it aint that bad.

This mission is bugged. When I use the tractor beam, it says "incrementing count", I get no resources and the ship blows up.

i did it twice the first time i had my tractor beam group in with my laser , so of course the laser destroyed it before the resources could be moved. after that i binded tb functions to a different key . and used it like that. it took the resources and destroyed the ship. mission complete.

I had this problem too. Amongst the crappy answers from various people, and the more annoying "I just did it, I dont know how", I asked a pilot and FINALLY got the answer I want, and here it is:
Equip your tractor beam in, say, weapon slot 3, then hit the 3 key on your key board to fire the tractor beam only. Not f3. Just the 3 key above your keys.
Its that simple. And this is what, for some reason, no one knows.

worked for me just fine, i just sat there let the pitiful tier 2 ships take pot shots at my shields and siphoned off the resources.

tried this mission 9 times now, put the tractor beam in the weapon socket on its own and and fired it with the 3 key and still it fails to collect the resources and just blows the enemy ship up.
Any ideas what i am doing wrong guys as its driving me nuts and the csr's will not reply to the problem, it seem we have yet more bugs added in with this update.

Equip the 'quest' large hold also. I found that I had to retry this quest 9 times.
And until I put the QUest Tractor on, and quest hold, then make certain that I wasn't grouped.
Also do not 'damage' the freighter with any other weapon but the tractor.
That was the only way I got it to work successfully for me.
Talk about a buggy quest.
