ok this is gonna sound really strange but bear with me. I am a 3343 SS pilot and i fly a TIE interceptor. now i am really having problems with mass, my shield and my gun take about 25k~ alone on my 50k interceptor, now i sacrificed my armor which was about 400 f/b so i could put my cygnus reward in mainly becasue it had better YPR then my previous one did. now i need to know whether it would be worth my time hunting down more of these and RE'ing them or should i get a different engine. now i know some of you are going to say i should use the heavy TIE, but i dont beleive in that and i dont want the JSF or the RGI so can i get some help please, iam running WO3, RO3, CO3, EO3, and CtSS3, my whole goal is to finish SS in an Int, so please help me here.

Always go with the best RE equipment you can get ahold of for your level. Without RE'ing, that engine is pretty heavy, and I'm sure there are decent engines with close YPR's and speed that are less mass. Just snuggle up with a friendly shipwright and see what they have.

i've tried anything with a YPR of over 60 is at least 12k in mass and the speed is only like 65, although with EO3 thats not a biggie but still, shadowfire kinda lacks good shipwrights.

You just need to find ONE Sw, at least 0300, to do the RE job for you given the parts. The tough part there is GETTING those parts, of course ... see the assorted RE threads here. I did a fairly lukewarm RE job on that engine (another faction's version) while I wait for better parts, and I know it will be a fairly long wait.

I understand your position in not wanting to use the Actis or heavy TIE, it's quite honorable, even given that you're only doing a single-player campaign. TIE/I can be a great challenge to set up properly. If you're doing it for the challenge alone, then have fun...best I can tell you is to keep looting and buying level 3-6 parts for REing. If you want to make it a little easier on yourself though, go with a TIE bomber...getting used to a bomber control style can be a small sacrifice compared to the extra mass you can use for a "sloppy" setup.
On the other hand, take heart...there are excellent stats to be found in some level 6 and below parts. For example, I've seen level 6 guns with max damage of 2800+, and others with around 8k mass...if you can find one of each of these, your weaponry will be set.

thanx for the support man, i actually get that engine RE'ed betteter then i predicted 69 down the boards with 75 speed and 9k even mass with only 1200 energy drain, so i'm pretty happy.
