Thread: What happens when your DSL/Cable goes out in space?

My friend and I were chatting on Yahoo voice when she lost connection to SWG and Yahoo simultaineously. This always means that here cable has gone out yet again. (I would like to kill her cable provider...) Things were worse than usual since she was in space in combat at the time.
Her ship has level seven shields that are 1612/1624 with a 10.99 recharge (I buy all her parts for her). She was in combat with a few tier one ships at the time she lost connection. Since my ship has almost identical shields, I know that a dozen tier one NPC ships can pound on them and not have any real effect. I am 100% positive that her shields would hold no matter how long her ship was pounded by the tier one's she was beating up on.
I am sure that some of you have had something similar happen. What will happen to her and her ship? Will she simply be on the ground when she logs in? Will her ship be undamaged if the tier ones did not get through her shields?
Her cable can be out for 24 hours at a time, so my curiousity is getting the better of me here.

she will show up on a planet at the starport, i show up at tatooine (don't know if this is true for everyone) and as long as they didn't get through the shields the ship should be ok. this happend to me but i was in dant and got swarmed by some tier 3/4 ships and lost connection, when i got back on my ship had been destroyed.

If you lose connection briefly (e.g. crash) you sometimes log back into your ship, but if it's more than about 10 minutes you are back on the ground. You end up at the station you launched from, and I think you get wounds/bf but no damage to your ship.
