your a rebel pilot?? lol look at your forum icon.
Exampe if your in Havoc squad as I am you cantake duty missionsfromcrimson phoenix or Vortex squads.
Now this can come in handy if you want to do lower level missions like you do in order to get some better components.
Also you can take duty type missions from SpaceStations now.
Instead of landing just talk to them and hire yourself out for missions.
I've done missions at the Lok Spacestation, Yavin IV , and Dantooine.
Some have a mix of tier 2's and 3's others just 2's.
Great for getting lower level component drops.

I answered this same question in another thread but here's what you can do.
Any Rebel pilot and probably Imperial pilot may do duty missions from another trainer of same or lesser Level.

Good to know! Right now I'm 4/4/4/3 Crimson Phoenix and I'm about 400k xp from that last box. I'm just having fun taking my rl husband and guildies on my duty missions to kill Tier 4 ties and the experience comes pretty quick. I was thinking I'd have to give that up soon, because I wasn't sure what else there was to do at Ace, aside from pvp or space station missions (and of course helping my guildmates complete their missions). ![]()

You are forgetting one important thing....no matter how many ships you kill for xp, if your not doing the tier 3 missions, you won't be able to train any boxes.....all tier 3 boxes are giving to you by completing the missions the trainer gives you...you don't need xp to train those boxes....the master box is the same way (don't have to grind 7.5 million xp for the master box).
So while your running around killing ships and thinking you will get xp to train, sure you can use that xp to train a box....but you will still have to complete the tier 3 missions in order to get the training option from your trainer.
Before I found out that all tier 3 boxes were free, I ended up grinding the xp for my first tier 3 box and trained it using that xp.....later I found out that I could have saved that xp, got trianing for free and used that xp towards my tier 4 boxes.
Now if you just want to fight some lower level ships to hopefully get a good loot drop so you can have better parts for you ship...then any of the poi's will have random spawns....dantooine has a wide variety of tier 3 ships with your occasional tier 4 ships....but the loot is great there and spawns happen often.
Your other flaw was taking 2-3-3-2 instead of 3-3-2-2.....that will give you they x-wing which will give you more manueverabiltiy and speed.....then you would have access to the best possible level equipment you can get.
finally, if the tier 3 missions are too much for you, get a partner. doesn't have to be a higher level pilot either....you just need an extra ship with you to take some of the focus off you....and at the same time you both get xp and complete the missions. When I use to hunt in kessel and I was 3-2-2-2, I would find some rebel npc ships and tag along in formation with them....when an imp spawn came along, I'd get some kills and make 6-8k per kill.....since the rebel npc ships were faster and took nearly all the arggo off me, I wasn't at that much of a risk......it's even easier when the rebel corvette is in kessel...because you can get the vettes powerful turrets to help.....all you have to do is go to the vette and shoot at the imp ships attacking the vette (this is rare, but if you can find it happening, it's easy xp)

Well you made 1 big mistake by going 2/3/3/2. You should have goten 3/2/2/2 first to get the x-wing then get 3/3/2/2 to get better componets.
And group with an ace
You should go 2322 first. A Y-Wing long probe with level 7 shields and weapons isfar more useful that an X-Wing with level 5 stuff. Since my current load out of heavyweight componets weighs more than 100K mass, I am not sure that I have any use for the X-Wing at tier three at all.
