Thread: Found a way to Slow B-wings inertia

I have found something interesting with he B-wing, everyone who has flown one knows when your turning or rolling the inertia keeps you moving in that direction a few seconds after you control the other way. I have no problem with that, i know its a heavy beast. What i did however find out is to kind of slow the way it over rolls. When your coming out of a turn or roll apply full throttle or just steadly increase it as your rounding out your turn. What this causes is your roll and pitch rates to drop which in turn slows the oversteer. The B-wing is a heavy throttle maintinence ship, and if your flying one you already have that skill. Another way which alot already use is to just slowly recenter your stick before going the other way, this causes the ship to stop yawing or rolling gradually and doesnt give you the feeling of fishtailing through space.

Ihope this helps anyone who is willing to atleast try, i know it seems like alot of work but after all the Bwing isnt a master ship for no reason, it takes someone with skill to wrangle her in. I however am still far from wrangling her in just slowing kreeping up on her. But i think the rewards for learning to handle this ship effectivly will far outweigh its lack of manuverability.

I do it this way too. It takes some time getting used to but once you've done a view rounds and have learned to stay calm on the mouse (I prefer the mouse) and trust your shields, it works very well (PvE against duty tier4 TIEs, tier5 in Kessel works as well).

At the beginning I thought I'd never get this thing to fly into the direction I want it to fly. But with some patience it's fun.

Hey vorin, you just found out this age old tactic....Hmm, didn't think you were that new to flying!Guess we all learn something new

It's the basic tactics that all ships should use.....it's nothing more than slowly entering the turn and accelerating at the apex......it not only helps you turn faster, but it improves your aiming and your catch up speed out of the turn.....

I was having the same problem with my Kimogila, so I'll give this a try.

I knew about slowing down to get a tighter turn, the innertia problem only shows up on the real heavy ships. I just tried to flog it as i slingshot out of a turn and it seems to stabilize the ship right up. Im not too new at flying, just new at flying the Bwing with these physics. Tonight im going to try the 92 speed engine instead of my 88 speed.

I tried this with my Kimogila and a 92.2 engine and this tactic definitely helped.

Yes, using a better engine along with engine overload and you'll see a big difference.....my b-wing flys almostlike my y-wing now.
