this is more of a survay thingy.

yacht

yt-1300

y-8

jedi star fighter

kraty(thou i would trade this space for a Firespray)

arc-170( if they would ever fix it so i can either complete the mission or generate the ship)

reason for this question, if you have the yacht and a yt/decimator/nova and have stuff in them you cannot fly the y-8 unless you empty one of them out. you can put stuff in 2 of them and fly those 2 but not the third unless one is emptied...what gives.

i am told that you can only store on those 2 that JTL beta had set as sorta an unwriten rule. they redid the rule on the yacht taking up a land slot. now RotW has introduced another POB ship and has increased the number of ships, why not redo that unwriten rule aswell or atleast let us know before we go out and waste our time doing these missions. if we can get them we should be able to fly them and store on them.

Why keep the ship limit at 6? why have a ship limit at all? If you were to keep one of every ship you were certified to fly, you would need between 15 and 17 ship slots depending on your faction. Why impose an artificial cap on how many ships a person can have to begin with?

Because SWG's database software is crap. Since the beginning they've had tremendous problems with items and database size and performance. The cap exists simply because their system can barely handle what it does, not for any balance issues. To add another ship they'd have to keep track of ship type, name, parked location, all the equipment and stats, primary color, secondary color, texture, damage status probably other things. If it's a POB ship than you add onto that all the items INSIDE, permission lists... even more data. So adding even just a single ship slot makes the database much larger. That's just one ship, for one person.

Um, says who the Y-8's vertical axis is broken? I've got pictures hanging in mine.

Really, the Yacht was nice, but it was too much a barge. I've got my Nova Courier decked out as a combat ship with a fully decorated interiorand I'm working on decorating my Y-8 as a house/operations vessel. The yacht was just storage space that was too slow to really be of any use to me. I've got high performance engines in the other two, so being attacked isn't a high concern to me. I can outfly anything lower than Tier 4.

As far as the other ships, I keep a B-Wing and an X-Wing outfitted and ready for use. Because of issues with finding comparable components, I have an engine, reactor and shield that I swap out from one to the other. I recently went ahead and generated my ARC for the sake of a test flight, but its only got a bunch of half assed loot components on it.

If there were some better performing civilian vessel that would be unattackable/unusable in combat like the Yacht, I'd go for it, but really, I could live with only three slots at the extreme, I would just need some extra time and inventory space to swap out my combat fighters.

It's better for being a space-house I suppose. I tried to do that with my Y-8, then I found out the vertical axis in the ship was broken for moving things around.
