Thread: Minor mining probs...

In the pilot FAQ there is a great post on space mining written by RedDwarf. Has a list of all the resources by system too I believe (ie. which asteroids are where), or you can just hyper into a system and bring up your Nav screen, all of the resource asteroids are listed there as well according to the system you are in.
The basic answer to your question though is Yes, keep shooting them until they get put in your hold. First chunk comes off mother asteroid, blast it into smaller chunks, chase those down and blast them, and upon destruction, they should get placed in your hold. Stored resources also show up as a % of space in the hold, not an actual number of the resource. Just a point to keep in mind if you're trying to mine a specific amount of resource to build something.
And, you can mine as many different types of asteroid as you want, as long as you have the storage space in your ship's hold.
