Thread: Any workaround to trade and fly a JSF if not imperial?

Hi,

I have seen all the posts here saying you cannot fly the JSF without completing the quests. However, I have also seen a number of posts (on the bria trade boards) stating that people HAVE been able to trade this ship and fly it if they haven't done the quests. One person even indicated they are flying it and don't even have Rage of the Wookies. I'm trying to confirm once and for all:

Is there ANY WAY to fly this fighter if you haven't completed the quest. I have tried to have someone trade the fighter to me right out of their datapad (not in deed form, but in ship form) and he told me it told him you cannot trade this ship. So can someone who has tried this confirm the following:

1. What is the actual NAME of this ship? Did I get the Jedi Starfighter? It is not called JSF but some name beginning with an E.

2. Can you trade this ship in "ship" form from your database (like you can trade a speeder or pet) and avoid the redeeding process

3. If you alt character has done the quest can you fly the ship?

4. If you have done the quest for the ARC bomber ship does this also open the JSF to fly (I've seen some posts speculating this is the case as well)?

5. I know people have posted it can be done, but CAN SOMEONE WHO HAS ACTUALLY FLOWN THIS SHIP WITHOUT DOING THE MISSION SAY EXACTLY WHAT THEY DID TO GET/TRADE IT?

I really want to fly the JSF but also refuse to be an imp, and don't want to drop master rebel pilot. I have a grievous fighter and am told the flight characteristics and loadout are the same, but the JSF just looks so cool I want one. Can someone who has actually tried this please confirm for me?

2 - Don't think so, I tried passing some ships to a friendon datapad formand it wouldn't work.

3 -No, sorry.

4 - What I heard was that some people went Imperial to grab the JSF, went back to Rebel and then finished the ARC-170 quest and then got the message "You must complete the quest..." when attempting to generate the JSF.Might've been fixed already though.

5 - No idea, sorry.

And yes, Grievous' ship has the exact same specs as the JSF, only slightly bigger. I still prefer it though

I was rebel, did the quest for the ARC-170, got it, flew it. Then I deeded all my ships (mistake), and went imperial, now I cannot generate the ARC-170. I assume if you leave it in your datapad, you will eventually be able to fly it (no way for me to confirm though). I now have the JSF, but I don't want to go back to rebel out of fear of loosing my JSF.

i did the ARC as a reb. i dropped lt colonel reb and master reb pilot to do the jsf quest. completed the jsf quest and went back to reb (woot). i still have the ARC in my datapad but i cannot use it. i can use the JSF no problem as a reb. i think when you drop pilot it resets your space quests. i cant land at the reb outpost anymore either, i need to do that quest again as well. gonna try to confirm this tonight when i get home.

I was master Reb pilot, switched to Imperial (and lost all rebel pilot skills) and did the JSF quest. Did not go up to 4333 Imperial and deed it.

I switched back to Rebel and once i got to 4333 I am able to deed and fly it. I will NEVER take it out of my data pad , for fear of loosing it forever.
