If its the one Im thinking of there should be a heavy cruiser spawn there, you need to disable the ship first buy targeting it use the ] key to target its reactor, once the reactor is gone you'll get the message that the ship is disabled and you can now inspect it.
Oh this thing has 2 turrets that can shoot in all directions so take the reactor out as fast as you can.
I am re leveling pilot and on this mission as well.
Not sure if it's a bug or if it only spawns at certain times as I have tried 3 so far.
Still searching forums for something on it, but I am pretty sure that you do not have to disable the ship, merely get close enough and Inspect it.
And I already have enough for the next 3.
The way i remember it (which is barely) was that i headed to the waypoint and used the "y" key to scroll through targets until i found ships with "Nym" in the name. I would then fly toward that ship, disable it, then inspect it. (For some reason the "Nym's Lieutenants" wouldn't work for this...i think it worked with a regular "Nym Fighter")
Sorry i couldn't be more specific, it's been awhile since i did this mission.

You will not need the XP to complete tier 3, it's missions only. Don't worry, you will need plenty for tier 4, so it won't go to waste.
As for the mission in question, you are looking for a civilian transport, which will con blue to you. Get close and inspect the ship, then try to dock when you get the "This is the shipment.." or whatever message. It will refuse, so target the ENGINES and CAREFULLY shoot the thing until it is disabled. If you blow up the ship, you have to start over. I tried hitting the reactor and the ship blew up with a few shots. One hit; see what happens; another hit; rinse and repeat until the the engines are disabled. Then /dock and get the orders. Make sure you wait around a minute or two after getting the mission successful message.

Yeah, it was that same thing for me too.
