Thread: Noob freelance pilot stuck 1-2-1-1
First off, pick up a Dunelizard. Then go shopping for some better parts. You should be able to get level five parts now. And they won't fit in a Syck, unless you can affored the heavy Syck. 10k of mass compared to 85 mass is something to behold. First off look for some Player made shields, the are 9 out 10 times better than looted at this level. Also look for player made engines. I was able to find a player made engine level 5 that 87 speed, and 60's Pitch and Yaw. Also look for a player made generator, again 9 times out of 10 they are better than looted. Same way with weapons, you might get lucky and get a better than crafted, but look. Boosters and Capicators are the only thing I would suggest you use looted. Armor is better crafted... You might find the rare drop that might be better than crafted, so keep them and get them Reverse Engineered (RE) by a trusted Shipwright.
Right now it seems like it is your ship that is getting you killed. It would take a very experienced pilot to continue on past the level you are doing with the ship that you are using.
A) You need to do that mission before you can learn a new skill.
B) Sorry.. I was never one for Waypoints for that, maybe some else can help you.
C) And if you can solo your way to ace your first time through.... I can't say how many have done that, but the I bet the number is lower than you think.

I second the Dunelizard. I flew one of those for a long time and loved it. The extra weap slot helps a lot. I was able to solo to RSF2232 before I needed help with that dam T5 YT, and mostly with a dunelizard. Get a Kimo when ya can too, they fly ok and can shoot down stuff. You do have to finish the mission you're on to advance any further but with a Dune and good equip you won't have a problem.
Also, when you get the chance to train in T3 make sure ya dont pick advanced defense first, I did it by accident. Planned on advanced equip...
I convinced a friend to go back to one too. He'd been upgrading his ship with every tier, and then he saw how easy I was taking out bigger ships. So now he's got one too, works great flying in formation, lots of fun!
Mass seems to vary on these, so pay attention to that too. Mine has 85k mass, but looking for one for a friend all I could find were in the 60 to 70k mass range. But if you're also a shipwright, you probobly already know more about that than I do....
