Thread: Technical Issues with my JSF Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Hello Peeps,

I have just levelled from 4333 to 4334 with the aim of getting Weapon Overload IV and smahing things up real fast.

I grabbed a new Level 5 Astromech and programmed it with my new specials. I went out into space to try out my guns and got a message of "weapons overloaded" and they where instantly disabled and my capacitor juiced.

Is this aproblem due to my level 1 droid interface? Is it a bug with my looted guns? Has anyone has this problem before?

Thanks

When you hit your weapon overload did you have enough "juice" to handle it?

I normally run my commands in this order

1) engine overload (lets me move fast right off the bat)

2) reactor overload (gives me plenty of main "juice")

3) capacitory overload (prepares me for having my guns "pumped up"

4) weapon overload

If you use a higher end reactor/capacitor combo you should have no trouble with the weapon overload. If your short on mass try the order I have above. Don't have all those commands? Trade with someone or buy some off the bazaar.

Don't bother using weapon overload 4

Only use engine overload 4 if you have a MASSIVE reactor, and reactor overload 4 running.

Weapon OL 4 will give you all of about 2 shots untill your best capacitor is drained empty.

Engine OL 4 will totally disable everything including the cigarette lighter unless you have like 30k + energy generation.

In other words ... You shoulda gone 4433

WO4 drains a LOT of power, you just ran out of juice is all. Make sure you run reactor overload first, and have enough power to do it. I don't know the math, I usually just expirament a bit.

Are you a pilot and not using Droid Commands?

Here's my set up, and IMO the best way to go.

Reactor OL 4

Engine OL 3

Capacitor overcharge 4

Weapon OL 3

Cap to shield shunt 4

... oh and droid MUTE for when you head up in that JSF ... (I dunno how those blasted rebel scum deal with those droids inceasant chirping!)

The only level 4 program I use is shield shunt. The rest cause decay.

ALWAYS use reactor overload first. (well unless you know you got the juice to handle something else first...)

My droid/macro setup:

reactor overload 3
engine overload 3
Cap overload 3
weapon overload 3

(not on macro, but when I need it: cap to shield shunt 4)

I think I get it...

For general use, I should just use overload 3 and overload 4 is like an Ultimate Weapon to be used when I need to slam something large very hard. This is providing I can shunt a tonne of power into my capacitor and/or reactor..

Something like that?

I run WO4/EO4/WCO4/RO4 on tier 4 destroy duties. 2 shotting tier 4's instead of 3-shot. Do have a 32k gen/18k mass reactor on my ship to handle to drain. Cap is lvl 6/8k mass/1120 energy/51 regen. Takes 8 shots to empty it with 3 RE'd lvl 8 reward guns. Regen is high enough to recharge enough between each target.

So WO4 does have it's uses, but it takes serious dedication to set up a ship capable of handling it.

when you first launch your ship, hit reactor overload. Unless you use emergency weapons or pump reactor (I think) or repair it stays set the entire time your flying. Tack on engine overload (drasticly increases your speed and turn rates) cap overload, this can nearly double your cap and makes it recharge faster. Nothing like holding down the trigger and not running out of cap energy. Then weapon overload.. packs a nice little punch. And your set.

You won't have room for the level 3 and 4's of all of this. So use level 3's, and a lvl 4 cap to shield shunt. (takes all the power from your cap and recharges your shields with it when necessary, 20 seconds till you can use it again) However with cap overload, your cap is full again by the time your able to use it again. (great for vette/gunboat runs etc.)

I like my parts to last, the level 4 overload programs causes decay to those components, which is why I don't use 'em.
