Congrats! First time I solo'd a vette I was so excited I wanted to drop the master box and do it again. I was really disappointed to find out that it would drop my entire squadron if I did.

Now, your next challenge is to do it with only blasters, no missiles or specials.

Thanks! I'll have to try that tonight with my Privateer. He already won't have the benefit of Bomberstrike. It was pretty thrilling, I have to say : )

I hope I can pull this off...Only thing that seems challenging are the gunboats . If it was just a fighter escorts, I could zap this thing like it was a...Y-Wing in Kessel lol. Last time I tried soloing it, I started when it was about 6km/7km from the exitpoint and hadn't read the guide, so I just flew in close enough to target the Vette and hit BS2 and flew away again lol. The strike package destroyed all but 2 or 3 of the guns and %30 of the secondary shield and %40 of the primary shield before the gunboats and Vette left.

so far ive soloed the vette without missiles many times, however whenever ive gone to try it withougt bomber strike the vette seems to be caught in the corner and just twisting as are the gunboats so i was always getting shot by something, so decided to bomber strike the thing but it was still a pain in the backside. BTW i use a JSF with a setup i have not changed in a long time lvl5 and lvl7 blasters mark 3 engine etc the only thing thats chaged is the astromech as a blue R5 unit just didnt look right

Yeah i know. You don't need missles to do it. When writing the guide, i tried to keep it simple and illustrate the easiest method possible.

Oh and QFE. Long before i wrote the guide, ALL the forum regulars knew how to do the vette. The "how to" was long established. The only refinements i did was breaking it down on paper as a 5 step process into a more easily readable format, and the use of missles to expidite the routine. I'm quite certain i was not the first one to think of using missles, so im not taking any credit.

I have more problems with the "fighters" than I do the gunships or vette themselves. I havent yet tried it in an "agile" ship.. only used the Krayt so far and cant really do it unless someone else has taken out the fighter escort first. One of these days Ill outfit my agile ship (like the JSF perhapse) and give it a shot.

Vette really isnt that hard. It looks hard and intimidating, and its alot of fun, but its not a EQ dragon raid or something.

Challenge yourself. Go back some time and see how fast you can drop the whole formation. Im guessing you can do it in about 8 minutes.

Just read the section of the guide relevent to me (Imperial mission) and I'm gonna try blowing this thing so long as it's in spawn when I logg on
