Thread: Currently IMP 3222 Pilot Should I go freelance?

Hey everyone.

I am currently a Imp Pilot with 3-2-2-2 and 200k banked pilot xp. I wanted to go Freelance pilot because then I can go against Imps or Rebs if I ever change sides. Also the YT1300 just looks so cool. Considering to get to that point I just fooled around. I was curious if I was to start fresh how long would it take for me to get to the same point I'm at now but just in Freelance pilot? Or, is it even worth it to switch?

If you want to switch factions you will have to drop ALL pilot skills AND experience. Basically you will start from the beginning. But, Corsec is the easiest pilot prof to master IMO.

If you wait till you master Imp pilot before switching you get a x2 xp bonus when you are doing freelancer.

Bingo. Cowboy up and finish and then do your Neutral grind 2x as fast. Plus the Imp Ace Jacket is the best clothing award. (except for the neutral 50 item bandolier, which is not really "clothing".)

He still has to do tier 4, 4 million xp. If he finishes Imp now then goes freelancer he will have to grind (effectively) 5.931.250 space combat xp. If he drops now he will have to grind 4.262.500 space combat xp.


If you like JTL, odds are you'll change squadron again in the future and will be happy you took the effort of finishing Imp now. If you're pretty sure you'll never change again, drop now.

Yeah I guess I will do Imp then. I'm currently doing the quest for the JSF and I just bought myself a Grevious ship. 2 things....How is the multiperson Imp ship? And, how long will it take for me to finish Imp Pilot?

That all depends on your pace, some people can master a pilot prof is just a few days starting from scratch, less if they have previous masters on that character. I did Black Epsilon in just over 24 hrs, using double XP and the master bonus.


Get out there and grind and you should finish it pretty quick.
