I'd like to see new space loot that integrates with the ground game...and ground loot that integrates with JTL.
Part of this will be addressed by the expansion that allows harvesting asteroids for resources used by ground crafters. Still there needs to be a much bigger connection between space and the ground.

You guys (not singling this poster out) are all missing the point. Prestige to FS trade in is not Prestige to Jedi trade in. FS != Jedi. Jedi have no benefit (idiotic possible spaceframe additions notwithstanding) in space. Jedi take no risk in space. This has little or nothing to do with converting one kind of experience to FS experience.
There is also no risk with medic exp, slicing exp, crafting exp, politician exp, and other types of experience that don't actually require combat. In fact, if the 'they can't be hunted by a BH, or lose Jedi exp' sentiment is what you mean by risk, then NO type of experience presently has any 'risk' associated with it; you can't lose Jedi exp until you're a Jedi, and you can't be a Jedi until you've finished the FS system.
To my mind, FS experience was meant as a way to measure and reward a player for actually playing the game. They needed a counter who's scale could adequately reflect a huge set of variables in difficulty and accumulation, so they made the conversion system.
Any, and I mean ANY type of experience that can't be converted to FS needs some kind of investigation. If FS is a measure of time and efficiency of play, failure to include a conversion is a failure to recognize time.
I fully understand the sentiment that you may or may not have regarding the proliferation of Jedi. But let's call a spade a spade.
I have to agree with the above. I am currently grinding Jedi, and by no means is it near as fun as going to space. I believe that if I am grinding in space and enjoying the game, as apposed to grinding on the ground and having a miserable time, I should be allowed to convert my space xp towards my ultimate goal. Jedi have no special stats in space, so I don’t see the big deal with conversion. I only play the SWG because I want to be a Jedi, but I play JTLS because it is fun.

As to whether space xp should be convertable, I say this:
As I understand it, when you convert xp to get force sensitive xp, you are taking the experience you have gained through other activities, and applying it to the study of the Force. Looking from this perspective, what is so different about flying a starfighter in combat from fighting with a blaster that experiencing a dogfight doesnt help your understanding of the Force, but a running lightfight does?

FS trade in?
NO. The whole skill point, point got me. That and theres isnt enough SPACE for everyone to grind. There realy isnt. 14K boundries? Whoopdy Doo. The furballs can easily cover 1.5K at any given sector.
With that said though, I wouldnt mind trading in my REBEL Prestigue points for say Rebel faction points,
but I realy dont want to say that. What I realy want to say is, let me buy some realy nice space crap.
A rebel base/house in space to land my ship. Paint pictures of the nebulae out my kitchen window..etc..
Player Space Stations, so that I and the rest of my squad can land their ships on, then maybe shuttle into a spaceport from.
Its what I want. Crap like that to play with.
Longterm Expansion Crap?
Atmospheric flying to my land based base in Tombstone. You know how many Kryats and now jedi we got?!?! I need to strafe the dessert like an A-10 mowing my lawn.
Crap like that.

HEY! What about all that left over Pilot XP. I got 1.7 million of the crap just sitting there. How about sending that to the frigin village at 1 to 1 conversion, seeing how I can never use it for anything now?

Force Sensitive Trade in? Yes or No and why.
No,none of the Jedi skills have anythign to do with space also... letskeep the Jedi L00tz on the ground
I see many GREAT suggestions in here already so I will repeat the ones that sounded best to me and maybe throw a few new ones in.
Easy-to-implement:
*Badges (Mission and POI)
*Ship 'power up' items that crafters could make.
*More dockable places
*Space Weather (just once I would like to see something 'different', be it a comet flying by, astorids, space storm or some sort random change in the background)
*More mission and wider range of the 'types' of missions, maybe some explore / scout / discover missions? get tried of shooting stuff down 24/7
*Fly other faction ships. be it using your PPs or mission based
*Lootable only decals / textures or some sort of eye candy for our ships
*More ways of customizing the 'looks' of our ships. Decals, more textures, wider paint range but most of all... the ablilty to change the wings, nose, cockpit, fins, windows and other outside items. These would have no effect what so ever, just make out ships look more different from each other.I could pay some NPC at the starport to refit my ship with a different stlye of wings which would make it look much different but have no effects on anything outside of eye candy. Even if there was only 4 wings, 4 bodies, 4 noses and 4 cockpits to chose from... this would make a HUGE diffience in all the ships we see. Maybe even give ship makers some sort of image design skill?
Require-major-changes:
THEME PARK IN SPACE!!!
*Trade in system for prestige points (add a NPC in the starports, rewards that you can trade prestige points for being... ships, uniforms, decals, textures, components, schematics, title / rank, placable items for MP ships. *Just like the faction point system*
*Homein space, be it space station apartments (like EQII), mini space stations or even placeable houses on astroids.
*Ground areas that can only be reached by player ship
*Space Race(be able to race your ship in space to earn a badge)
*'space dungeons' and 'Dangerous areas of space'would be great!
*MP ships being able to board large ships, you take out the engines then have your group go inside ht enemy ship on foot to take out personnal. (Kill one of there gunners and that gun goes off line)
And last of all.. something, anything for us Master Pilots to do

Here's a reason against FS conversion that I just came up with, that I feel is valid. There are already enough sources of FS combat xps ingame, there's no real need for another. Simple as that. Combat grinding for FS sake may be boring, but at least you are accomplishing the fundamental goal of combat. The only way FS crafting is practical is to do the exact opposite of what the crafting system is designed for. Until that design flaw is rectified, I don't see any reason to tip the balance in favor of FS combat grinding still further.

Why is there no need for another? Jedi have no special skills in space, so what it the problem. Also FS is not jedi xp, so there in lies another issue. The people who want to use the xp for fs trade in are not even jedi yet. It seames to me that all you really are trying to do is hate on people for wanting to be jedi. Not for a valid reason like it would offset space combat, which it would not. Also it's space COMBAT, so it is a form of combat.

All i am saying is why cant i enjoy my grind in space doing something i think is fun? It affects no one else, and over all would make the game more enjoyable for me. I will make jedi one way or the other, but i would sure like to have fun getting there instead of hating every second of it.

FS conversion? Yes onthree conditions. 1. the conversion rate should be reasonable compared to how easy it is to get Pilot Prestige. 2. That it is in fact based on pilot prestige and not on pilot experience. 3. That there is more than enough OTHER things to spend Pilot Prestige points on that it would truly HURT even a Force Sensitive to burn it off on nothing more than some FS experience.
So regarding point 3... please please make it possible to buy certifications... or more to the point RE-certifications for ships. So that a former Imp Ace could retire, join up with the RSF regain ace and once they scrounged enough PP together could repurchase their Tie Advanced certification. This alone could keep many Master Pilots up in the skys where they belong.
Again though this should also be accompanied by plenty of other perks that would be equally attractive. Special furniture schematics especially for MP ships or furniture pieces for ground houses with very piloty themes. Pilot specific clothing schematics with plenty of variation (and taking into account the more interestly shaped races). A special 'Shifty looking Pilot' award for those of us who hope to master each of the pilot professions (Maybe even a BH mission or two against us for switching sides so often
).
As for some of the slightly off topic stuff mentioned (various places to dock and such like pilot cantinas)... Even though it isn't canon per se within the movies... maybe it would be possible to move part of what is currently in the starports (Some of the ship terminals and such) up into a new area that would actually BE the Space Stations. One of the things you could do in the station that you couldn't do on ground would be to go to a terminal and get invited onto a MP ship by the ship's pilot. Its frustrating (and more than a little silly)to have to land, dumping everyone in the middle of the starport just to pick up another person.
And while I'm rambling about it... why the heck do we 'land' in the middle of the starport rather than wherever the ship access points are? If an equipment juggle bonked out my droid and I have to come back down... it feels odd and a little irritating to have to run around back to the terminals. So if I'm appearing there because I've arrived by shuttle, then definitely create an area in the space station (That would be like the MP ships in that you could look out the windows) where I'm shuttling to and from. And if thats just where you appear by all means make it so pilots appear in the lounge rather than the middle of the port. Cept I'm sure that would take at least some coding and I'd rather get other content so (although new transport points seem to have been created for Jabba's and the Emperor's retreat so either they were always there or its not that hideous a job)... /rantoff.
Mostly... please allow master pilots to repurchase certifications with significant chunks of Prestige Points.

Why cant we use the system that Neocron used for apartments. When you select the starship terminal and want to go to a ship, it creates an instanced Hanger where your ship is landed, and you can repair, modify etc and then launch if you wish.

I also agree that Pilot XP and prestige should be convertable to force sensitive xp if they wish it. I'm not saying to jedi deserve skills in space but this would be an immediate fix to no post master content. The conversion ratio could be something really high like 100 to 1 and iit would still be balanced along with the rest of the conversion ratios. I do agree that this would be the first step toward the content we really want. I was the one of the first 3 master pilots on my server and since master the only thing that that i have had to look forward too is flying in my multiplayer ship with friends, spend hours looking for PvP, or killing npcs in deep space for loot to RE.
I love the space expansion but there is really nothing more for me to do out there, but a space conversion to FS xp would be a hell of a lot more fun than throwing grenades at lairs

5) Player-placable landing pads. Crafted by Archetects, placable only by masters in a Metropolis, costs enourmous amounts of prestige to activate deed, and perhaps even costing both credits and prestige points to maintain. These would be factionally alligned, and would limit access to only members of the profession matching that of the master who places them, with the likely exception of Neutral. Limiting their placement to highest-level cities only, and possibly capping a planet's total allowable number of player landing pads would cut down on swamping each world with them. I would also add that they should only allow for landing and takeoff, no component management, as they might otherwise be seen as overkill. Lastly, unlike cantinas, these should not persist after the city drops below the size needed to maintain one. There is no need for an international airport in a deserted city.

Must say that has to be one of the most well thought out and balanced ideas of how to get player controlled landing rights I'd seen or heard! I second this great idea in the name of a better over-all game!
Oh yeah, and no FS trade in. No way! We need PvP in space and newbies need XP grind spots. What we don't need are idiots who don't have any interest in the space game and are going to ruin it for everyone else!
