Awesome site, I especially love all of the droid program information it provides (turns out I have way too big of a reactor in my Eta-2 heh.)I did notice a couple data validation errors:

  • Ordinance should allow for 0.000 ratings on vs. Shields, vs. Armor, and EPS

  • Countermeasures should allow for 0.000 ratings on EPS

and one design suggestion: remove the level selection option from ordinance and countermeasures—you're already asking the tube type, so you can extrapolate that info without making the user enter it. (It'll make life easier for those of us who enter their data using the Datapad readout while waiting for their group to get ready on Mustafar )

And again, great work. I can't wait to see it when it's got even more ships entered.

Okay…I lied, two design suggestions. The registry listing is nice in that it lets you see what people are flying on various servers, but it doesn't give any at-a-glance comparisons, which would be really nice. Maybe some brief statistics—aggregate DPS, speed, YPR, shields, armor—I know there isn't much space, and that ships are entirely too complex to break down into just one or two numbers, but some sort of key field that folks can latch onto to pick out ships that particularly interest them would be great.

Thanks Gerric. Well thought out input like this is always welcome.

Yeah, I confess that I got impatient to release the tool near the end, and skimped in a couple of areas. I had imperfect knowledge of countermeasures and ordnance at the time, so I just fudged it. All of your suggestions, as well as the addition of ammunition-specific data, are on the to-do list.

I've got two ideas in mind here. First, I'm in the middle of implementing a comments and ratings system. I'm going toinclude the aggregate community rating in the main ship listing.

Second (and much further down the road), I'm going to include a link on the header for each component in the loadout labeled 'compare' that will bring up a side-by-side of your component against all others of the same type and level, as well as against the 'platonic ideal' as represented by the highest values in the entire raw-loot database (calculated for post RE bonsues).

These applications will be alot more meaningful when we hit critical mass (say, three or four hundred ships).

Wouldn't .250 refire guns be easier for the gunners?

this isnt a real config honestly, i compiled average stats of post pub24 POB parts and put them into the profile for my Y-8. there isnt alot of them out there yet so i wanted to post an slim idea of what a Y8 Gunboat would be like. my gunboat wont be equiped until i master SW on my alt, im going to aim for faster refire. i figure two 5k damage shots is better then a single 6.2k in the same timeframe.

I always go for higher refire for the gunners.

I added a link to the ship profile screen labeled 'new comment notification is on/off'. It's on by default for your ships and off by default for all other ships. You can toggle it on and off by clicking the link.

When new comment notification for a ship is on, you'll get an alert in the notification line on the browser whenever a new comment is posted for that ship. It'll remain in place until you view the comment.

I've modified the weapon section of the ship profile specification code to enable choosing 'WO3 as implemented, with bonuses' or 'WO3 as intended, with penalties'.

Changed the code behind the scenes to reflect a 30% efficiency bonus for running the current implementation of WO3.
