The biggest problem lately has been finding a crew. I'm all up for some missions, but I can never get enough people to man it and at the same time fighters to provide escort.

Excellent guide. I want to add though, you don't need a co-pilot for droid commands. The turret operators can use them as well, its only the pilot who can't. At least thats the case on my YT.
One question I have (I am pretty new to the MPS) is when do plasma leaks and system damage occur? I thought it was just when all your armor got destroyed and you took system damage, but you mentioned in one of your runs, you lost only some armor and had one leak. Can you add to the list when those events occur?

1. The Nova is HUGE compared to all of the other MP ships. It's a much larger target. Never, ever take your Nova to PvP. (That goes for any MP ship.)
2. If you're solo, do not attempt to take on more than Tier 2 fighters/bombers. No matter how good your shields are (unless you're using Cap to Shield Shunt liberally from your turret position), your regeneration rate will not be high enough to avoid being damaged. Don't use missiles. Just park in a spawn and hop into your turret. If you do use missiles, use MKII Spacebombs. 3 linked MKII Spacebombs really say "I don't like you" in a meaningful way. But really, unless you're a Shipwright making your own munitions, it's cost-ineffective to use them at all.
3. You can't fix armor in space. Fires occur when the armor is gone and enemy hits nail your components.
4. You MUST have a doctor around with fireblankets when you're dealing with plasma fires. The worst of them hit you for over 500 damage ticks. That means that within 10 seconds, you will be incapped. Preferably, whoever is repairing the plasma fires should be fully buffed.
I'm sorry, you you are Oh so wrong with what you have said here, apart from the armour thing. The Nova is actually smaller than the Decimator, and it's more than possible to take multiple Tier 5 targets, and pvp solo in a POB. I should know, I'm living proof. If you are going into Deepspace carry 3 lots of Mk II Image recs as these will save your hide. You can also take up 3 Mk IV Prton launchers to pack a BIG punch if you are going PvE. I regularly fly solo (with a crew of course) in deepspace and PvP, I even take the ISD out. As for fires, after the CU fires are nowhere near as bad as they used to be. Once you put out the fire, the flames usually subside. I have over 15 kills, 5 in a row in my Nova, so if you know what you are doing, and how your crew like to fight, you can take out all manner of fighters. I've taken JSF's, B-22's, Opps, Deci's, YT-!300's and Krayts, so please don't say that you can't PvP in a POB, because you can.

The last time i had pvp with my decimator had to have been a month and a half ago, and it was against a rebel awing in deep space, and 2-3 times in a row i ended up nailing it with one of my 3 space bomb launchers =) i had gunners but up against something that fast i just tend to dogfight and go for the missile locks on his/her approach then do my dodging meanouvers...
Which usually winds up leaving you with a mess to clean up from a sick crew.

Tellehane, could you please explain what you mean by this:
Do you mean to run an Engine Tuning program with Weapon Overload 4 here?
Pilot/Operations Officer: During escort missions, use engine efficiancy in combo with weapons overload. Match speeds with your escort. If you have a decent enough engine you can use efficiancy and still keep up with speed. This extra power will go into all of your other systems including shields.

not with 4, 4 turns off some other equipment even though you can have a huge reactor, but for example using 3, when you use the engine efficiency, by nature it gives a small boost to the other equipment in your ship, so you might notice a slight increase in shields or capacitor, weapon etc...I've tested out the posibility of using overload 4 for various things but its just not worth the cost, even using a very high end capacitor it still tends to only get off about 5-6 shots for not that much damage, I would only use it on like a gunboat or something and even then its really not that worth it, plus it tends to disable your coutnermeasures, your warheads, and in some cases your droid interface leaving you to pump reactor ability to reset everything... But the efficiancy is mostly for those who have small reactors without a good reactor boost chip from neutral pilot who needs every point they can get.
