Thread: The death of all pre-rotw ships...
no, i'm not a new pilot, i was just pointing out that contrary to whatsomeone explicitly said, the TIE advanced has MORE MASS than an a-wing, which is compounded by the fact that two guns in an advanced (or jedi starfighter)give more firepower for less weight, and they aremore nimble
i CAN put a pre-nerf lvl 8 reward engine in my advanced (pyr 75-ish top speed 108.4), a lvl 5 shield, two REed lvl 6 guns for combined damage of 3600-5200, lvl 4 reward booster that i haven't REed yet, chaff launcher, light armor front and rear, pre-fix DI, lvl 2 cap (although a lvl 1 will easily power both guns), reactor, and i'll still have mass to spare
but in my experience against a-wings, i like the lvl 7 shield with the pre-nerf lvl 6 engine. Yeah, i gotta be patient, but i'll out-juke the a-wingand line him upbefore he does me. And if he does hit me first,i cantake a shot or two...can't say the same for any a-wing i've fought
Wow, it'd take a helluva lot to obsolete my Krayt (which in turn obsoleted everything else I own except for my Dunelizard). Guess I'd better go find one! ![]()

They've got three months to sort out all these messes. All of them. And get the game back on track both in space and on the ground, combat and crafting - the works. There are things about the CU I like, the GCW is overall good but needs a helluva lotta more fleshing out, but heavily pathed quests, quest dependant loot, unbalanced space combat designs (everything in designing a ship should be a matter of tradeoffs - not one simple route to optimum power like we're seeing now) and so on...I don't think this game is the SWG I came for anymore at all. And nobody can say I didn't give her a fair shake.
Well its official guys. The heavy Z-95 is the pvp king.
I went to deep space today in one of these things. I had a lvl10 engine (97 speed 83YPR), reward shields, massive front armour, and a lvl7 reward gun.
I killed an oppressor a couple of times. Easily.
Then saw a guy in a Tie Interceptor. We had about eight or ten fights. I completely wiped the floor with him. He didnt have a chance, the poor guy. He managed to put one shot in me in the entire ten fights. Because of my huge defences I just CtSS and didnt even take armour damage. He didnt get another shot on me.
This is against a ship, that in an A-wing, I would expect to have to work hard. But in the Heavy-95 it was way too easy.
I apologised to him after the second fight, saying the ship I was in was hopelessly outclassing his ship, but he kept coming back. So all credit to him.
I dont want to have to use a Z-95 in pvp. But at the moment I just dont have any justification for choosing anything else. It beats the A-wing by a mile. When the jedi starfighter becomes available, I will probably switch to that, as it looks like it has a smaller profile. But it will be exactly the same with that. There will be no justification for using anything else. EVERYONE in deep space will be in the same ship. Imps, neutral or reb. There will be no diversity. No other ship will compete.
This is a sad, sad day.

Been talking to a guildie last night, I came to a conclusion that I hope I am wrong at!
To me if feels that the "Team" not sure if it is SOE or Lucas but it apears that they are going to a loot/quest system instead of the player ran equipment and supplier. Nothing in RotW is player made. With the release of CU crafters are having a hard time as it is getting the resources they need without a full assault squad escorting them, ok a lil much, but you get the point. I was excited when I heard about the new ships. I ground out SW in a heartbeat. I figure something, since they took my Doc crafting from me and I feel meds are of no real use anymore, I went SW. To my surprise the only RotW items I get to make are Cargo bays and Mining laser? Sad day indead that the "Team" is going in this direction.
I believe this is the whole marketing aspect of SOE. The only way you can get your hands on this new stuff is if you buy the expansion.....god forbid that you get a schem, and bring it back for a crafter to make the object for everyone to use....

From the stats your A-Wing should turn slightly slower than your Advanced at least. Maybe you changed your have different joystick settings between your accounts? I know for sure that the A-Wing has less than half of the Jedi Fighters acceleration stats.
It is kinda sad that people now have to join another faction to support their chosen faction.
