Thread: [GUIDE] and [FAQ] to Completing the Corvette Master Level Mission v3.0b by Zina
Just camp at 5000 5000 5000, thats a safe 4.5k from its spawn point, a few small imperial ships will aggro you every so often there, but you will see vette spawn and you'll also be able to target it some time into its run from that point too.

i have problems finding the imp-vett (the one that rebels have to destroy).
Can anyone confirm the Waypoint?
Bug warning...FYI
I just ran into something of a bug related to this. I talked to the admiral and got my corvette mission. As I was waiting in Kessel, I was invited into a group. Someone in that group had a Destroy Duty Mission (to destroy 30 tie fighters), but they said they would help out with the Corvette, so I happily joined their group.
During this time, I took a hit to the armor. Since I wanted to be fresh when the corvette finally did show up, I hypered out to Dathomir togo get fixed up at a space station. As soon as I entered Dathomir space, I heard the music for a failed mission, and saw a message saying that my duty mission had failed. I ignored the message since I hadn't taken a duty mission (figuring it was just a bug).... It was only when we destroyed the corvette that I realized I no longer had the corvette mission. DOH!
Worst part is that I had just missed the corvette the first time around...so I had to wait for 1:50 minutes. Now I'm up for another 2 hour wait.
Anyway...just keep this in mind if you join a group.

Once the gunboats are gone, your about home free. Both factions are on equal footing with the vette. The gunboats in my opinion, is the hardest obstacle for the rebels, and the easiest for the imperials."This is completely false, or perhaps just outdated. I have found the exact same blindspot on all gunships no matter what faction. This includes those Mercenary Heavy Cruisers you can find in Dant or Dath (forget which). I sit directly behind the gunship between 535 and 545, and never see a shot taken back at me. This works with all gunboats. Also, if you do this from the 555 mark, you won't do as much damage, you'll need to take more shots to see shields, armor, or systems dropping. As has been said by others - the Corvette is easy to solo with the JSF. It's so small and fast that 90% or more of the laser fire directed at you will miss.
Sounds like something i wrote.
What i said, "is true, from a certain point of view."
No, imperial gunboats dont have a blindspot like rebel gunboats. Poor wording on my part, but they DO have a blindspot, its just not like the rebel gunboats. Its different in that its narrower. So your window to fire on them is a bit tighter then a rebel gunboat.

I'll bet i can solo it in a Tie/ln. (the 40K mass variety) Any takers?

Does the creater of this guide still play?
For the love of god change that guide to not disable the corvette and leave the gunboats to path on only to bug future corvette hunters!!
I have done many corvette runs against both the corellian corvette and the star ravager and the biggest time sink for me helping people with this mission is because people have read your guide and leave the bloody gunboats spinning in circles at the vette's exit point
Both corvettes can be taken down in under 10 mins solo.
1. Approach the convoy from the belly of the corvette (target weapon 5 on the corvette for the belly) fly in and take out gun 5 and aggro the escorts
2. Boost away 180 degrees from where your attack approach was from so you remain under the corvette and draw the escorts about 2km from the vette before wiping them out. If you hang between 1800-2000m from the vette they circle back and path back to the vette making them extremely easy targets to kill.
3. Approach the gunboats and corvette from behind and below so that you're out of los of the rest of the vette's guns
4. Close the gap to the nearest gunboat to around 550m and start shooting, targetting the gunboats engines. It will not be able to hit you because player guns outrange everything except the corvette. Once its engine has gone, come to a stop and let the remaining gunboat and corvette keep pathing and finish off the disabled gunboat from 530-550m away.
5. Repeat for second gunboat
6. Continue with Corvette as per the guide or just match the speed of the corvette and fly side by side with it but slightly below its line of sight and again you will find that you can hit the corvettes weapons without getting shot at all. Drift to other side and repeat process.
7. Blow up corvette and heap praise on the new Ace
Notes: If you see the corvette start to turn, boost the heck away and wait for it to stop shaking and jinking after the turn before you go back to work on it.
This guide is not any more effective than the creator's it just gives more consideration to those people who will be hunting the corvette next.
