I think they should be more intense, but shorter. That's it.

That's basically my thoughts condensed into an easily digestable package

I would like it if some missions had the quest-giver ask if you'd like to do a short, intense escort or a long, less-fightey one.

Something along the lines of "Pilot, we need you to escort xxx through the yyy sector! We have two options - to send the ship on a long course on the outskirts of the enemy fleet, or to charge right through it! I leave the choice to you." for example.



Crixx, Xicrx and Crixxorian Darkmoon - Rebellion, Corsec and Imperial Ace Pilots respectively.

Meh. I don't see a need to make (most of) them shorter, but making them longer seems kind of silly. I am reminded of the escort mission I had to do as a Rebel pilot to land at the Rebel base on Rori. And you want to make that longer?!

If you feel that hours of little content in a mission is fun then I guess that is where we can agree to disagree, but if I am flying I want something to do other than loop de loops around the engine struts of whatever freighter I am escorting at that moment. Ipostedin this thread just to throw my two cents in, and am not going "Baaa-aaa /sign". Not only that, but I am an Ace Pilot. Why in the world am I escorting all these freighter's anyways? Shouldn't I be escorting capital ships into battle?

I understand about it being a game. It isnt meant to be a pure flight combat game and it isn't meant to be a sim for real flight in any way. I would love it if we had real world exoatmospheric fighters though... That would be fun.

I'm all for modifying many of the escorts to make them more entertainng. Like huge waves that come at you from a diffrent direction. Only a few big waves that attak at diffrent times for each mission. Make it impossible for you to know "when" the enemy will attack. Stuff like that. In some case it should be nonstop combet. I think part of our problem is the fact the missions were meant for a group of players of that TIER. Not the 1-3 master pilots and then some lower tier pilots. These missions were hard back when I made Master. Why? Because there were less then 10 master pilots on my server then. Maybe part of teh fix will be a group level sysdtem that spawns the proper number and difficulty of enemy ships based on the group ad not the mission holder's Tier.

As for ACE. I realy don't think just because you can get soem freinds and lead an attack ona Vette you should be an Ace. An Ace would be killing 30 fighters 4 Vettes and aout 6 gunboats at the same time, SOLO.

Most of these people that are "aces" are nothing more then cannon fodder for those that are ace. Still would like to see the title of Ace become a Prestige point award and not soem mision completion reward.

Change the Titles to Elite Imperial/Rebel Pilot and Elite Pilot for Freelance.

But that is my personel opinion about the majority of the newest generation of pilots...

I've actually done SA and it wasn't intolerable. Imperial Inquisition was though... argh! Never tried SS yet, but I will one day, when I'm done gridning everything else I have to complete first.

Inquisition wasn't that bad. Really, I don't mind escorts that much, though. A bit dull, to be sure, but it just makes you appreciate the "all action" missions.

/sign...i had to do smug alliance while being imp on ground in an imp guild rofl..had to solo almost ALL the missions except the master pilot missions

Not storm, storms escorts were easy,but others like corsec and arkon's havoc were short and uneventful.

Hehe, lets do this- make them longer AND harder. Instead of /follow the transport for 80% of the time, or 100% if you want (they rarely die), Have the transport actually in danger of death and have more fighters spawn. AKA make it so you actually fly.

(Edit: the corvette escort for the kash station quest is a good example, ive had it killed by a gunboat several times)
