ostat cant u fly with ne normal parts, kinda takes the fun outa the game if it aint hard.
im working on my legit loadout right now. im still going to be just as hard to hit, maybe even a bit more manuverable, but 2-3 hits will kill me now instead of 4-5. (if you can hit me that is)

Ha, he'd survive Tie Oppressors tri IR2 salvo and still keep going. Be glad that most if not all of the sploiters are on your side - you never had to fly against them, long before ROTW fighters were introduced.

what about those 0 gen reactors?
Those are just wierd. They don't actually have anything to do with the KSE disk thing.
That said, it wouldn't surprise me if they made a mistake with the fixes, and those reactors came with 50k energy.

these actually supposedly are a display bug of some sort, and if you RE them, sometimes they'll yield surprisingly high regen rates

Tomo has always known about the RE exploit and the continued existance of the shield exploit. The sad thing is both were reported to sony MONTHS ago.
Only now do they do anything about it. Why so long to fix a game breaking exploit?
Theres no excuse for it.
For the record, I'm why it took so long... rather, why it happened at all. I went to the Informal FanFest a few weeks ago and told Tiggs. As in, talked to her and explained it.
I was pretty sure that it wasn't an intended feature.
And yeah, my Belbullab will mass a gigantic amount, and yeah, I'll have to deal with 1700 shields instead of 2555, and I'll have to deal with 400 armor instead of 2000, and blah blah blah... but I used to PVP very well in a freaking A-Wing, I can adapt. I'll tell you what, 82/80/84 YPR @ 99.8 speed will still kick much ass plopped into an ARC-170, even if it takes 2/5 of the mass. And I can still use my L10 gun in that*.
I just have to load up a Heavy X with my RE reward cannons.
I do think that they should have un-RE'd the parts, as well (divide stats by 1.06 or whatever the level calls for and let you plop them back in a tool). I also think that FS disks should provide an RE bonus (2x the % bonus to stats, maybe). But if wishes were fishes, you know? I think we got off lucky keeping the parts AND having them semi-useful for folks who actually thought it was a game mechanic.

Hmmm.... What would that mean for someone who RE'd to a 0 shield strength?
I don't think that's possable. The KSE disk exploit (can I talk about this since it is being fixed? If not, I'll edit it out) functioned by putting it into the RE device in place of a part. Thus, instead of using eight level 8 shields, you'd use seven and a KSE disk. Since KSE disks have no stats, the game assumed that all stats were 0. Thus, stats that are better lower (mass, energy drain) would be 0, with no effect on stats that are supposed to be high (shield strength, regen). As such, a 0 strength shield really isn't possable.
Ethical question now. I have something like 5 copies of KSE disk 7. Knowing that they are fixing this, would it still be bad for me to use one to make a level 2 blaster or DI or something? Something useless to use as a conversation piece? Or is it still bad to play with exploits, even if I'm doing it to make something useless?

Fair enough but I honestly can't see how -anyone- with half a brain cell would consider that bug an intended game mechanic. No offence intended to anyone who did but..seriously, lets use the common sense for a moment?

I'm still proud of being the only one Norram considered a fair threat. Plus mwahah, I got round his little missile game
. Sorry...you mentioned Norram, I had to boast on that one. /ahem.
I wish he'd come back actually, I've been missing the missile spammage ![]()
