Nice guide
Thanks Zeon_Zaku,
I am trying to compile as much useful and factual information to assisit pilots who aspire to be master. Since JTL is only a few weeks old, i would forsee things changing when it comes to JTL and more specifically the corvette. I have a feeling that the spawn rules have been changed to allow duplicate corvettes to spawn in kessel at once. We are about to see Kessel relegated to a PvE only zone. This is a huge huge change. Its almost equivelant in game impact in removing Saber TEF. Yes, very different things but its a whole new game if you catch my drift.
I'll try to keep this current as best i can, but i can only go on what i experience and others confirm. hope this helps some people.

Some corrections:
Imperials get to Kessel from the Empire Deep Space station in Endor space. Freelancers get there from the Neutral Deep Space Station in Dathomir. When killed they return to Endor or Dathomir.
There is no Freelancer Master Trainer, at master level they either take goto the Rebel or Imperial Master level Trainer and take the same Master Level quests. So they will either be going after the Imperial or Rebel Corvette depending on which trainer they went to. There is NO Freelancer Corvette.
Sounds like, once again, things get made easier for Rebels. And, once again, freelancers get the shaft. We have been shafted in almost every other aspect of piloting so why not this one?
On another note, great guide Zina (long time no see!). I will be using this one soon. 5 stars for you.
how are freelancers getting the shaft in this particular situation? because they are freelancing their abilities out to the empire or rebellion?
I am referring to the fact that Freelancers and Imperials will lose their mission when they die because they will have to reload into a different star-system. Correct me if I'm wrong about this...
Nope, all factions are the same in this regard. You DO NOT loose the corvette mission when you leave Kessel. If you do die, Imperials end up in Endor, Rebels end up in Dantooine, and Freelance ends up in Dathomir. All you have to do it head back to the deepspace station and transfer back to Kessel.
Freelance gets the shaft in many aspects of the game. Fortuntaly, this is not one of them.
I've tried this and to a certain point it did work out pretty well:
Once you've got small escorts out of the way target Weapon 5 with missiles and take it out this should leave the underside of the vette safe and blind; IFF a ship under the vette that has a manned turret and match speed, using the turret to take gunships out from safty (in theory they shouldn't be able to see you if tight enough under the vette)
Others have tried out this and have agreed its "workable" the only real problem is you haven't got much time to boost away should vette take a sudden turn.
Failing that you've got the good old 555m* behind the gunboats tactic. But important to keep updating your "match speed" button as they do adjust speed up and down an awful lot.
*555m is out of Gunboat's weapon range but within your own weapons range, takes some precise shooting as you loose the predictor at this range.
