Always, always, always off.

Kills my already poor framerate to have it on (I don't get this). Bad enough I'd pretty much have to stop playing till I could upgrade the PC.

Further I have my field of view set at max for both ground and space (mostly for ground) and I don't want to change it each time I hit space. Try flying with field of view maxed and the cockpit on (with a framerate that bounces between3 - 6 depending on if you're turning or not) them come back and tell me I'm 'cheating'.

Actually I find it far more immersive to not have the cockpit on. I feel less distanced from the battle. But whatever suits your tastes works for me.

100% on. its just more immersive.. and a Kimo has a good view to the front.
