Thread: Things broken in Pub 24
Hehe...
I do see the bug where the windows are black.
But I don't see the other bugs that people are talking about with the Y8.
I had 2 guys in the turrets last night, mining with Mark III mining lasers.
We swapped those out, and I put in a tractor beam on one, and that worked fine.
I didn't have a problem going up and down in the elevators, and I wasn't levitating in my chair.
I actually feel kind of left out. The only bugs I get are bugged quests.

I did the last 3 quests for the Y-8 quest and didn't loot anything (beyond credit disks), I just thought I was unlucky.

Got something in about the black Y-8 and Nova windows earlier today, but this is the first I've heard about loot-related problems in space. Anyone else running across anything screwy in that regard?
Yeah, I had a similar thing on those missions last night, except I got 3 pieces of loot (like that's better
Not in my Y-8 they don't.

Y-8 still incapable of mining asteroids properly. The main gun (when outfitted with any mining laser) fails to break off chunks unless the ship is moving at high velocities. Also, when the pilot leaves the helm, all turrets become incapable of breaking off chunks of asteroids.
The issue with the main gun is my largest complaint. If the pilot cannot assist in breaking up asteroids, you'll still be better off flying individual ships than bringing a crew of any size onto the Y-8.
I was breaking off chunks last night in the pilot's chair.
The tractor beams DO work in turrets.

I re-tested everything again tonight (Thursday)
1) Removed all components from Y-8
2) Deeded Y-8
3) Logged out
4) Logged back in
5) Requipped Y-8 using Elite Mining Laser in pilot-controlled slot. (created this myself, so I'm certain it's a real mining laser)
6) Launched into Lok Space, and proceeded to Obsidian and Organometallic asteroids
The same bugs persist. At any speed less than 500, I could not break apart the asteroids. I checked the conditions prior to firing, and all asteroids had plenty of hitpoints remaining. I was within 450 meters or less of theasteroids. I fired for several minutes, and the asteroid lost no hitpoints, nor did any chunks break off.
I then flew out to about 1500m. Accelerated to 700 speed. Slowly reversed course (sluggish at 700 speed) and strafed the asteroid. A chunk almost immediately broke off. I then shot at the medium-sized chunk. Smaller chunks broke off. I then slowed down to 200 speed and fired at the small chunks. Nothing happened. I accelerated to 500+ and fired. The small chunk was loaded into my cargo hold.
Yes, I am a Master Pilot (Privateer) with SWG, JTL, and ROTW. This bug has persisted with me ever since ROTW came out and I acquired my Y-8. I have also used Mark II and Mark III mining lasers with the same results.
I have harvested asteroids with an Ixiyen, Jedi Starfighter, and Krayt gunship. I had absolutely no problems with any of those ships whatsoever, at any speed. Hence I've been using those to collect asteroids for my Shipwright components, as the Y-8 has so far been broken for me.
Rather depressing to hear no one else is experiencing these problems, as that greatly reduces the chance of this bug being identified by the Devsand fixed.

my view ports in my Y8 are also black. all my other ships seem to be working just fine though.

Something strange happened near the Avatar platform tonight. All of a sudden all ships, lasers, beams, etc. dissappeared, even the interior of my own ship. The targetting boxes and radar dots were still there, and you could target, fire and destroy, although you couldn't see a thing.
And combat on the platform itself seems to be bugged too. Or it could have been that I had incredible lag.
I ran into that one too, but it fixed itself after a little time, but my engine glow was still there all the time..
I was also in the kasyyyk space
Now if you could actually see the guys head sticking through the bridge, that would make my day.

another bug with th y 8 is that when you sit in the com chair your sitting 10 ft above the chair instead being in the chair
This isn't only with the Y-8 Ops chairs, it's the Captain's chair, and the 2 command chairs in the YT-1300 as well (the pilot's direct line of sight in the YT is obscured by the circular window strut). Although you're supposed to be sitting down, the POV is actually at standing height. The reason you can see out of the Y-8 from the Ops chairs is because your head is poking through the top of the bridge.
I really hope they fix this at some point. Also, I hope they fix the tinted windows ASAP, I like flying POB ships in first person mode.

My friend and I had a similar problem last night, this might actually explain it. I'll have to test this out when I log in later.
Also, has anyone noticed asteroids and asteroid chunks turning invisble, yet still targetable and mine-able?
While in DS last night testing out my sweet new LvL10 engine (82.6P, 83.2YR, 99.1sp, 40kmass 14xx drain) in my Heavy X I killed a few dozen eyeballs and only picked up a few loot items. The loot seemed to be less then normal. I didn't do any actual counts though so don't take this too serious unless others can confirm they see the same.
I did have an odd, and troubling, issue while in DS. I found a Y8 and a Vaksai attacking the Freedom station. I targetted them and did a flyby to give them a heads up that they were about to die. Neither seemed to be mashing the Z key so I got out around 2k from them and sent the Vaksai pilot a tell letting him (or her) know they should be looking in the rear view mirror. Right after I sent the tell I crashed to my desktop....Ug, I've notified the enemy I'm there and now I'm a sitting duck in DS. I logged back in as fast as I could to find myself still sitting in the same place and the 2 ships had left the system.
What bothered me is the crash to the desktop. This is the first time it has happened to me in DS, or space in general. It didn't happen again but I had left shortly after that. If possible I'm going to hit DS again tonight and see if I can recreate it.
Otherwise, I love the fact that the RE process is now lowering the Reactor drain. That engine with EO4 in my heavy X is so sweat! It pulls 1.5 modifiers on P and R and a 1.4 modifier on Y. With the LvL10, LvL8 and LvL7 weapons this ship is a tank!
