Thread: Weapon overload three... please fix. :(

i would fit all 3
You win I have no more comebacks...
oh and my postion on WO3 is it dont really matter that much if they fix it or not. Instead I would like to see the devs fix the hundreds of bugged quests. WO3 does not unbalance anything or break the game in some way. So it should be low on the priority list. Even lower than fixing candles LOL

Couple of RotW devs are working on fixes for RotW, couple of CU devs are working on fixes for CU. JTL dev (Darth Platypus)is working on JTL. Rest of the devs are working on profession improvements, stability, future content, foundations for next expansion, etc.
There is quite a big buglist, but when it comes to JTL it's not really that much and WO3 rates pretty high on my list.Anyone who's taken the time to use WO2 and/or WO4, re-equip their ships with a fixed WO3 in mind and has thought about the consequences for PvE and PvP seems to rate this pretty high too.

Math??? Dude pilots dont do math they fly ships. If you cant figure out how to get your ship working, then get another ship or try becoming a dancer or something...you should be grounded and your wings stripped forever
I'm always looking for the extra (legal) edge, if it takes math, spreadsheets, databases, hours of loot collecting or regrinding pilot several times I don't mind. Besides, tactics, situational awareness and manouvering require intelligence and creativity too. Pilot is an allround profession, takes both brain and twitch skills.I dare to claim every pilot that soloed all the missions and capital targets in JTL is at least adequate in all and proficient to excellent in some skills like outfitting ships, thinking up and applying tactics, situational awareness, twitch skills and very much aware of his/her strong and weak points.I know my strong and weak points so I build my ships and use tactics to fit that. I have the most succes if I build to my strong points but this leaves little room for error. Others might have more succes with reinforcing their weak points and becoming more allround. A bit of math can definately help to get the most out of a ship.Like Ducimus says in his sig, "The amature thinks about tactics; the professional thinks of logistics."
Withoug tactics strategy cannot be implemented.
"The winner thinks about both tactics and strategy"

This says so much about you

Yes all pilots are not created equal

That's not exactly true. WO3 in its current state doesn't effect everyone equally. WO3 benefits smaller ships more than it does larger ships. In PvP, most larger ships have surplus firepower that they don't need, i.e., one hit from a three gun ship will drop or seriously damage most opponents, weather you're running WO2 or WO3. However, for a one or two gun ship, the difference between running WO2 or WO3 can mean the difference between just dropping someone's shields or actually taking them out. WO3 in its current state also negates the mass advantage that larger ships are supposed to have, by rendering larger reactors and larger capacitors relatively worthless. Imagine if there was a bug that allowed TKMs to equip crafted armor and have it stack with their innate armor. Now, even though armor is available to everyone, I think we can all agree that such a bug would be unbalancing. The same is true for WO3. A pilot in an A-wing or TIE Advnaced that runs WO3 gains more of an advantage than a pilot in a Krayt or Heavy X-wing that runs it. Now, you might say that players should just switch to light fighters then, but that's no more of a solution than telling players in my example bug to all go TKM. Fixing WO3 should be an extremely easy fix. Most likely the penalty code for WO3 is pointing to the code for Weapon Tuning 3 instead, or something similar.

Who cares? The term unbalance refers to someone gaining an advantage over another that the second person cannot get. In this case, WO3 is widely availible to everyone and thereby negates itself.
Aye, it should be a very easy fix. It's either that or a sign/sign bit error. Anyhow anyone who is spending enough time in space, equiping their ships, re loot, calculate and calculate again to perfect their ship designs, knows this is unbalancing space combat way too much. People who can't aknowledge it are people who have not delved that much into space and ship design and once they do they'll figure out what we're talking about. There was still a post in the middle of the thread telling Jedi to learn how to equip their ship, which means that after reading the thread up to this point they're still clueless on what we're discussing here... And it is through the math related that you can perfect your designs, that you can calculate what drain you need to RE your weapon or engine in order to have the optimum drain for using higher tier overloads and maximize your ships efficiency. If you don't bother with that you'll just be a B class pilot. And WO3 is breaking way so many aspects of ship design, chassis potential etc as someone already mentioned above (didn't hold the names and all the relevant posts are on the previous page

That makes no sense. You want something fixed because you can't equip your ship right? What are you talking about?

Because my ships aren't even good enough to fly. fixing this earlier will not allow people to get so used to it so as to whine about [not] fixing it.
Fixed, and that is correct.

LOL your shipswouldn't be able tofly when you use WO3 [if it was working properly]? Get the devs to fix it, simple as that.

I've used WO2 before and it sucks. Nerfing WO 3 won't help much for pvp because you don't need alot of shots unless you are running crappy gun/s, like my TIE Interceptor.
NPC ships would need their shields lowered big time imo. Ritha do yourself a favor and run some Kashyyyk Tier 5 duty missions...... so easy til you get the gunboats of quick death to yas. lol
