Thread: Music to fly Duty Missions to: Suggestions?
I feel the need...the need for speed.
Put some old Command & Conquer tracks in there too, but feel like I've heard them too often even though its been awhile.
Kinda sad when you have like 13 gigs of music and theres nothing to listen to. *Sigh*
Any other suggestions.
Its not that I don't like oldies, I love em, its just that I think they're a little easier to get tired of because of the vocals. With just melody and rhthym its easier just to listen and not really pay attention to it? Does that make any sense?
Radar Love is a really apt song for JtL though, lol.
Thanks for the feedback.I promise I'll try to get ahold of everything suggested. Can't promise how much of it won't get deleted though. ![]()
Heavy metal sucks.
For some reason I was listening to the Mars Volta's latest album like crazy while flying duties for a couple months there. Got a bit of a habit of playing the hell out of my most recent and interesting CD while doing repetitive MMO stuff. I still associate A Perfect Circle's Mer de Noms with killing those stupid red lizard things in Asheron's Call.
PVP I tend to turn it all off and listen for the "beep" lol

If I'm on a duty mission I'll stick on selected tracks from cowboy bebop (Try flying to TANK at full blast it rocks) maybe some doves if I'm feeling chilled or some chemical brothers if I'm feeling wound up.

Cowboy Bebop is already in my library.I'm partial to NY Rush though.Ditto to the PvP thing, not like I'm great at PvP or anything.
NY Rush is a bit too laid back I find, I tend to sway in my ship if that's on, still a cool track tho lol.

Ah come on, spill it.
Since you asked...
Recently, I've been flying to Aqua's Aquarium album. For some reason, Jesus He Knows Me by Genesis is also good for duty missions. I run Queen quite often, and I play Dead or Alive's Brand New Lover probably more often than I should. KISS makes some pretty good flying music, too. Seeing as the paint job on my X-wing constantly reminds me of the Ecto 1, I can't help but putting on the theme to Ghostbusters when I fly that ship. I'm quite taken with the third CD from Songs of Ireland, especially Flower of Sweet Strabane, The Minstrel Boy, and Black Velvet Band. I even named my TIE Advanced after one of the songs.
Other than that, I've found that the opening theme to Revolutionary Girl Utena is good for flying. So is the theme to Magic Knight Rayearth. The Elephant Love Medely from Moulin Rouge is also quite good. While Final Fantasy X-2's 1000 Words is too slow for most missions, Real Emotion tends to work rather well. The Doors do good stuff in general for flying. I also really like flying to Irene Cara's Flashdance.
Malice Mizer's Beast of Blood is another one I play a lot. Continuing the theme of Japanese music, you can't go wrong with either Dark Side of the Moon or Expedition, from Dune. Good luck finding it, though. I'm still looking for a copy of that CD. I got a copy of those two songs burned for me by a friend many years ago. From J-pop, pretty much anything by Morning Musume is good, and I am especially fond of Endless Summer and Happy Summer Wedding. I got addicted to randomly driving/flying around while listening to Night Ranger's Sister Christian from GTA: Vice City. So that one may work for you, too. I also seem to put on Paul McCartney's Band on the Run record, but not often, since it is really hard to go restart records while flying. Yes, I actually use a record player for it.
I have an .mp3 on my computer called Star Wars - Jedi Master (techno remix). I have no idea where it is from, but it's good flying music. And appropriate, too. Blackmoore's Night does some good stuff. I especially like Avalon and Ghost of a Rose. Within Temptation's Stand My Ground is obviously good for Survival missions. Nightwish's Wish I Had an Angel is another good one. 80s rock, in general, works well for flying. I do like Twisted Sister (so
I like soundtracks. Top Gun has already been mentioned. Letters to Cleo, the band who did a lot of stuff for 10 Things I Hate About You is paced well for flying. And Queen's Flash is a bit cheesy, but fun. I think I'll stop here, as this has gone way too long, and anything else I bring up is going to either be way too obscure or nowhere even remotely resembling anyone else's tastes.

David Bowie is good stuff, and the soundtrack to Labyrinth has good songs by him, too.
