According to the EU, the TIE Advanced was designed for/by Vader. How come it's nowhere near as good as his JSF?

You know, I've asked this question many times and have yet to hear a decent answer. Though if I were into making up lame fantasy contrivances, I'd probably come up with something like:

Around the time of Episode III, Anakin Skywalker was at the peak of his abilities. His ability to draw on the force was at its very height, though his control was somewhat lacking at times. After he decided to take a bath in lava, he lost some of his eyesight from having to use a visor, and lost some of the precision in his limbs due to their cybernetic nature. Though he became more controlled and educated under the tutelage of Palpatine, he could never reclaim his touch as a mechanic or the fine-tuning abilities that were replicated by careful engineers in the run of the Eta Actis interceptor. Thus, even his later effort at creating an advanced prototype fighter had some success, he could not match his former abilities.

How's that for a load of crud? Should I put an application in to SOE's thematic aberration department, or what?

They don't need their marketing department anymore if they hire you .

Do an advert that lies through its arse! ...Wait, it's already been done

Crixx, Xicrx and Crixxorian Darkmoon - Rebellion, Corsec and Imperial Ace Pilots respectively.
"When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return."
"If your pvp battles in space only last a few seconds YOU need practice. The game isn't broken, you just suck!" - Thik
"There's no sensation quite like learning to fly. Tounge-tied and twisted, just an earth-bound misfit, I." -Pink Floyd
"One/two shot PvP is good because this is a game of EVASION. NOT ABSORBTION" - Big mean heartbreaker.
"Sod implementing anything half-decent, we have SWG to make! OLOL!"
"We already have expertise in space. It's called a brain." - Leaph.

If you look closely, that is a JSF outside Padme's window (it even had an astromech slot) and later on the landing pad on Mustafar you see Anikin land in a JSF and tell R2 to stay with the ship.

In the EU Anikin help to design the ETA-2 and did have access to several aboard Obi-Wan's ventator class star destroyer...

There is an even simpler explination... Anikin liked the ship and kept several after they where decomissioned in favor of the less exspensive TIE fighter...

See plenty of good explinations now go back to complaning that one of the ships Anikin happened to fly in the movie was blown up and therefore all JSF's blinked out of existance at that very moment.

Bigger question... how exactly did they expect to get Palpatine off the ship in a pair of one seater light fighters?

Play the game or don't it is what it is and will never be what it was for better or worse. I intend to play the game as long as it is fun, that does not make me a fan boy of brown noser. I know the game has it's flaws, but it serves no purpose to dwell in the past.

Next thing you know, ships will be mating with space slugs, humans will mate with droids, and women will be able to use the force!

And then in Soviet Russia, tractors will drive YOU!

Next thing you tell you're russian???
