I love the idea of the skull on the back of the jackets. You could form Swooper gangs. Hells Angels on swoops, all with Skulls on their jackets

Since each pilot type has different factions (example Hutts, Corsec ect.) Each Jacket should have a different Badge.
Perhaps since the Hutts are Pirates and Mercs, they might sport a skull. Their ships may also be able to sport a skull, Like the Avatar I use here in the forums for example.a) Jackets would be customized by the following.
1) You would have to have the original Pilot jacket.
2) You would need to complete a fun master level quest. The reward would be your division Badge.
3) You would then take both items to a tailor who would add a few other parts and combine them producing your new master Jacket. Also the jacket would be upgraded in durability from 100/100 to 10000/10000 (why once in a lifetime items are only given 100/100 is beyond me, just keeps folks from wearing em... and it's not like they have sockets or special abilities) Perhaps the upgrade would socket them?Jacket design would remain the same, but would change color and badge would be shown, so say a Hutt Jacket would turn Black or Dark gray (but no more blue/gray - smack the artist for that one) and have a skull on the back. Corsec Jacket would change to Corsec colors and sport a corsec badge ect.Rebels and Imps would have their own devision Jackets. So you could tell by the Jacket which division they mastered.(Neutral helm could be taken to an armorsmith and have a neck added)b) A quest would be available for division specific paint kits. These items would not be tradeable and could only be applied by a master of the correct division. Redeeding would remove the division paintjob.
Also, why are Neutral Pilot masters just Master Pilots?
We fought just as much.
How about at the very least giving us Freelance Ace titles?

Nice idea /bump
I would add insignias and colours for PvP kills on clothing, or maybe a tally system that you can paint on the side of your ship (like the old WWII fighters)

Love the idea...more content...more content...and conditionless would be great too or at the very least more condition on it so I could actually wear it with pride without worrying about never being able to wear them again.

/bump, with one note. Don't the Hutts already have an insignia? I think I'm using the thing for my forum avatar. Not sure if maybe Jabba might have one of his own, though. .. or maybe that IS his. Anyway, great ideas.

Yes I think so.
though the question would be if We are really Jaba's or Mercs for hire currently workin for him.
Personally I think of myself as a Merc working for Jaba at the min... but hard to say how SOE sees us ![]()

This has bugged me ever since I reached Ace. Why can't I just be an Ace Pilot?

What I'd like to see:
* Knock down the shine on the jackets. Mine look like they're made of plastic. (I've got my graphics cranked up.
)
* Let us modify the primary and secondary colors on the jackets. Make it use a starship paint kit,or work like comp armor, or whatver. The grey and grey privateer jacket is kind of bland, and it's impossible to match brown and orange (BROWN and ORANGE???) on the Rebel one.

Good idea. I think once in a life time items should not decay as no one can make you a replacement and you can't re-earn it.
