Alliance pilot, specialising in the A-wing. Leaph is a Lieutenant for the reason thatalthough he really is rather spiffy I never would want him to be a 'main role' character. I get sick of all the Luke Skywalker wannabes etc. In character, he is a confident sometimes cocky but level headed character when it countsand knows what he is doing. Hot headed without being naive summarises him I think.

Rather than being a Wedge Antilles type character, I always wanted him to be a pilot who was feared and respected in the Imperial Navy, but he wasn't notorious enough as to attract too much attention or even be known by name. More of a cult Hero .

He isn't out for respect. He just does what he does and accepts what he gets on the way. He fights for a better Galaxy but isn't blind. If the Alliance were corrupt, he'd speak out against it. History wise, he was the result of a one night stand between a Nubian silk merchant and a Corellian Dancing girl. He spent most of his life on various freighters, his father having left after that 'one night' so he never saw him again. His mother was often 'working' most nights so he hardly saw her and when he only became wise as to what she did for aliving when he found her dead at a refresher station one night (lovely stuff eh?). He was a drifter for a long time until circumstances got him tied up with the Rebellion. Interestingly, Leaph was rejected by the Imperial Navy for apparrent space sickness and suffering from disorientation. Strangely, he 'grew' out of this after he learned what the Empire was about and finally got involved with the Alliance. He suffers symptoms time to time. He stays sane by focussing on the job in hand and by clutching onto hope and the belief that he can mak a difference.

(Basically, this character has existed since long before SWG. I have several stories written involving his childhood etc which were used in creative writing class back at school )

I have a good story for my toon - but I am worried it may be a bit cliche' =P

The synopsis is this...

Rajha was the son of a Freighter captain, flying in and out of Theed. When Rajha was old enough, he started going on runs with his dad. After some time, Rajha became quite good at flying the ship and other associated pilot skills and eventually joined the crew of the 'Golden Goose.'

When the GCW erupted, Rajha was recruited by the Empire but somehow convinced the Recruiters to keep Rajha in the reserves. Rajha was commissioned a 2nd LT and assigned to the 1st Imperial Marine Detachment, Emperor's Retreat, Naboo. Rajha continued flying with his father but, when called on, would fly training missions with the RSF. One fateful day, The 'Golden Goose' had a very full (and profitable) run scheduled to Alderan... Unfortunately for Rajha, he had a training date that conflicted with the run. His father and crew (the only family Rajha had) departed for Alderan.

Rajha reported for duty as normal. During a pre-mission briefing his squadron was briefed on the dreadful events that took place at Alderan. According to the Intelligence Officer, Alderan had been destroyed by a secret Rebel weapons system!

It was this one moment that led Rajha to leave the reserves and join the active forces!

After a series of stunning engagements Rajha was promoted through the ranks - but since he refuses to take a true staff position, he has remained a Lt. Colonel and has returned to the 1st Imperial Marine Detachment at the Emperor's Retreat, to oversee (and assist in) Counter-Terrorism Operations in the Naboo System.

Also, you have to consider that this is a Galaxy consisting not of millions but trillions or more. What I mean is, cliche doesn't come into it so much because lots of people would share fairly similar stories. The only unforgiveable thing a roleplay based person can do in my oppinion is to try and infringe on the main story and try and -be- on of the main characters i.e 'I am Luke Skywalker's long lost brother' kind of thing. My character stays as far away from those types as possible. The only characters he'd probably meet would be Wedge or Ackbar maybe...

That story will reveal much about Halyn as a character.

Kind of hard to be flight surgeon in the cockpit of an interceptor. I used to gett into the ground game and would have considered myself a sort of sniper/field surgeon, but since I really couldn't care less about the ground game anymore I am nothing special... just a pilot... one of the mass number of TIEs that stream endlessly from an ISD

So with Pub 24 bringing POBs up to par... there should be an increased demand for flight docs, between pilot/ops and patching up the crew, you should be very vaulable!!

I know when my pob gets banged up - a good flight doc is priceless!!! Plasma leaks suck, especially in the cockpit!

When you think of your SWG character, what do you think of?

I think of my character as a ranger, first and foremost. Being able to fly ships as an ace is just a side effect of his never-satisfied desire to see just what lurks beyond the horizon.
