Thread: Did pub 17 fix heavy X-wing 'weak' answer quest bug?

It has become blatently obvious that space mission content is at the bottom of the to-do list.

They could simply allow CSR's to reset the CPG mission string for those of us stuck.

Sure you'd get a few people trying to get multiple ships by saying they're stuck .. but a simple check of thier badges would prevent that.

Same thing with my Imperial toon who got rewarded with the TIE deed and the Heavy X-wing badge.

Simply remove the HX-wing badge and give me the TIE badge. They can check the logs that toon has never been anything but an Imperial, so there's no way I should even be able to obtain the X-wing badge.

What I find entirely unacceptable is not so much that these bugs are not fixed, but that CSR's refuse to manually fix anything. Apparently when they farmed out CSR's to a bunch of idiots who can barely type in english they also made them completely impotent.

I got to do the starter missions from the station again but on the ground I got the same old infinity loop conversation!

I have waited long enough for this fix, if its not fixed by Monday, I am going to cancel my station access pass, and find me another game.

Somehow I don't think such ultimatums will speed the fixes along.

I'm guessing that the fix will appear tuesday now.

It's not that simple. I'm sure the $10/hr bottom rung CSRs don't have the tools in order to make changes to characters badges and quests. That sort of access isn't something you give a normal CSR, and based on the abilities of other SOE CSRs, they probably have no way of doing those sorts of seemingly simple changes or fixes. A dev would have to either manually fiddle with the database (a Very Bad Thing) or create a Tool to use to do that, something that's probably rather low on their ToDo lists.

Bit in red - Ima chimaerean - dont tell me about databases - the fact I was writing a big treatise on security systems for databases (backups being the easiest and most important security measure!) really annoyed me!

Hell, I back up all my work to a CD, floppy disc, usb flash drive(and I mean flash! It says Alienware on it!), , online storage, and I email it to myself and my friend! GuessSOE could take a leaf out of my book!

CuchulainnDarklight I am not trying to flame you....but your reply made me laugh very hard.....especially since I used to be a database programmer...just take a minute and try to contemplate how truly gargantuan the SWG databases have to be for all that they hold....then you will see why your post made me laugh so hard and think of the things below.....

Email it to a friend? Yeah sure...

"Estimated time to completion of attachment download: 1:37:20:18:07"

And yes, that is Years: Days: Hours: Minutes: Seconds......

Or...

Better yet, the new Peterbilt Self-propelled USB Flash Drive (featuring retractable USB cable).

Or...

"Thank you for calling OfficeMax. How can I help you?"

"Do you have 200,000 CD-R's in stock or 6.8 million 3.5" disks?"

And in closing.....

For the record....Kylania hit it directly on the head as far as the CSR's ability to reset the quests. And if you want help with that treatise on database security (trust me, you need it), my consulting fees are rather reasonable.
