Excellent points, Ducimus. On the WT1 / 2, I think with the current status of WO3, everyone hasforgotten about the tuning programs. B-wing and Krayt pilots will probably be looking at those two very quickly if WO3 gets fixed in order to keep their large weapons up and running. Light fighters might too, in order to maintain a relatively small reactor and still run EO4 (for those who can).

No one? What about:

As for style, the biggest effect would be the end of RO4/WO3/EO4/CO4 FCs and Astromechs (like mine).

Did you think I had something else in mind? Besides using a lower WO program, there will be less use of EO4, as the WO3 bug is the onle reason some ships can handle it at all. *Most* ship loadouts will not be able to *only* changed from WO3 to WO2, as that will still be a difference of six times the Weapon Drain, compared to current setups (though some people will be more affected than others, we know).

As I mentioned, at least some marginal repect for Droid Overloads will come into play, as they will become a trade-off system, where your components have a bigger impact on the OLs that you can run. Maybe a person will decide on EO2/WO3/CO3 for PvE, but EO4/WO1/CO2 for PvP in the same ship. *shrug* I don't know exactly what will happen, but I expect to see some creative solutions.

About the only problem I can see is old RE's that didn't get the Reactor Energy Drain boosts because of the bug that's about to be fixed(and so adding more drain than you SHOULD be getting before even running the program).

If those were fixed retroactively, I'd see nothing wrong with it being changed.

Otherwise we're missing a step there.

Well with my A-wing and it's total energy consumption of just over 8k, I don't think it'll hassle me too much whether it is fixed or not.

Well you will see less missile and chaff usage, I believe they both are affected by weapon overloads. Correct me if I'm wrong. So if that's true then your chaff launchers and missile tubes are going to be another source of reactor drain (which cannot be RE'd.)

Beyond that the advantage of multi-gun ships over single gun ships will shrink. Multi-gun ships like the TIE Advanced will need to use lesser guns or lesser WO's while in comparison single gun ships like A-Wings may be able to operate with about the same equipment as they do now.

...and of course everyone will have RE'd Borstel guns.

Ah, but when a SW makes a missile launcher, he doesn't have as many lines to experiment on and launchers use weapons systems points (default 15, 17 with tapes). Personally, I stick to mass and drain, and normally max out mass and almost drain. WO3 gets fixed, drain will be the primary line for most SWs, because most ships using large number of missiles also have multiple guns.

In regards to the comment that WO doesn't affect missiles, wasn't there a post a few months back showing testing that missiles are boosted? Something along the lines of a single Proton (not sure on the mark #) overloaded could take out a vette system, but it required 2 missiles unoverloaded?

couldn't that be attributed to variable damage though? it'd be cool if missles were boosted, it just seems like i've hit a aweful lot of people in PVP with WO3 running and a IR2 and not killed them. heh, maybe that could be attributed to variable damage though.

Yes it could in both accounts be due to damage variables. I wish I could find that thread, the poster had seemed adamant as I remember that when not using WO said component would be at about 50%, but since I can't remember enough to properly search for the thread, I can't look up if he did any repetative testing or was just going on appearances.
