We can simply categorise hardness levels per planet.

EASY: Corellia starting point

NORMAL: Naboo starting point

HARD: Tatooine Starting Point

That works for everything, Freelancer, Rebel, Imperial, all same

I'm not sure I agree with that completely, Crimson PHX was a joke, it was soooo easy. Maybe because I've did several other squadrons before it, I don't know, but it didn't seem to give me much of a challenge.

I just make comphransion for "lenght of missions" and "number of enemies", "Tier differences" and ships in missions. Crimson PHX was hardest rebel one in my experiences with long "suicide" missions, gunboat and your tier + 1 aggressors and such.

Hehehe.. well I'm not the first! I think my time was in the top 3 though. I know Viduus did it in about 18-19 hours or so. Lemme tell ya, the 20 soms hours it did take felt like the longest hours of my life.

You get to a point where AWings are just a nuesance and you already know what to expect from every npc out there. In addition the bonus from ace'ing before helps in terms of grinding exp.

Also, when I did SS it was before all these new heavy beginner ships and I had just dropped Smugglers Alliance (so I did not have a TIE already tricked out waiting to go.) I will add though that I have some of the best re'ed components you can find on Ahazi from back when Viduus was our guilds shipwright.

All of those things compound together to make your 2nd or third squadrons much easier. Already having the deeds, re'ed components, flight experience, and knowledge of what you're doing ahead of time all make it possible.

Reason everyone thinks SS is the hardest... extremely long escorts (about 30 minutes longer than BE/Imp Inq each), hordes of annoying boom and zoom AWings (always hit their engines first and leave em floating in space like flies with their wings pulled off!), and the nasty tier 3-4 wild spawns that cross your path while on missions.

Another suggestion/hint, remember, if you're in trouble you can hyperspace within your current system without failing a mission. Very useful if you're all by yourself and just got jumped by 10 awings and a gunboat!

I'm currently doing Storm. It's not that tough. You should have tried Reb before the Heavy Z-95.

It's all gone. And so am I.

True, as Storm is to A-wings, Crimson is to Aggi's (they are freakin every where). With good crafted lvl 7 shields and cap to shield they aren't as bad as they used to be, but I can imagine this squadron was really tough "back in the day".
