I did, and I found the x-wing to be an awesome craft.

my setup:

3 level 7 crafted guns

1 level 2 looted reactor

1 level 2 looted (later RE'd) capacitor

front/back armor: level 3 crafted

level 7 crafted shield

no booster

level 7 crafted engine

can't remember the DI

I went to flying the b-wing later and liked the extra firepower, once ROTW hit, I got the heavy X and have been flying that since, with the exception of pvp, I use my a-wing for that

Yes I have, really liked it too but it was all with REed parts so wasn't sure what shipwright parts would fit. Even then my recommendations for parts weren't far off yours.
