1111 pilot can use level 2 astromech (level 1 is novice, level 6 is master) think thats 40 storage, so would be enough.
A better solution would perhaps be to find a better capacitor. there are a lot of great level 2 caps around. find one with 35-38 recharge and somewhat of 800 or so capacity. or two, one with high storage one with high recharge and have them reverse engineered.
You'll most likely won't need another cap then even at master, unless you have the mass free (for more storage for cap to shield).

Theres a nice spot in Tatooine with Tier 1 black sun fighters, its a POI, has "black" in the name i think, i'm not exactly sure anymore.
Won't give you that much XP there but the loot is nice, and still you get some XP for your first box already

Also privateers need Flight Computers, not droids, even if you get "Astromech certification", your ships just can't accept Droids, only some rebel ships do (and some RotW ships, but thats another story). Just check the bazaar for them, under "Deeds" i think, they're usually not that expensive, be careful you can only use FCs you have certification for. So a v2 FC at xxx1, a v3 FC at xxx2 etc.

I'd start using a FC at xxx2 (get 1211 first, then 1212 for the FC). Level 3 FCs have 70 storage, thats enough for: Reactor Overload 2 (10), Engine Overload 2 (10), Weapon Overload 3 (20), Capacitor Overload 2 (10), Cap to Shield shunt 3 (20).

RO2 and CO2 you have yourself, EO2 and WO3 you'll need to get from an imperial pilot - you need to buy some blank Droid Command Chips or what they are called for that (at least tier 3, best let him burn you EO3 too and anohter copy of WO3 for the next level - you can't remove programs from a FC again, without destroying the program, so you'll need a new one). For CtSS3 you have to talk to another privateer pilot (preferably Tier 4 or master, so he/she can burn you CtSS4 as well, for next level)

Once you reach xxx3, use a level 4 FC, 110 storage: RO3, EO3, WO3, CO3, CtSS4 (105 total)

RO3 and CO3 you have yourself now, WO3 and EO3 you should get from an imp pilot again (should have it already if you followed my advice from above ) and for CtSS you need another privateer again - if not available you can use CtSS 3 as well, you have that program yourself.
Difference between CtSS 3 and 4 is, that 3 uses 75% of your capacitor energy and refills your shield with that, and CtSS 4 uses 100%, filling your Shields more but your cap is really empty then. So some prefer level 3 even if they could use 4.

You can actually keep that level 4 FC even as master, unless you PvP you won't really need the Level 4 programs, they cause permanent damage to your components (Cap to sheild shunt is the exception). And you won't really need other programs, the rebel shield programs got pretty obsolete when CtSS was implemented, I personally have never used them again since then.

Also, always repair before you land.

Hear's my suggestion, if you find capacitor overload 1 not enough (that's all you can use at 1-1-1-1) then mount an Ion weapon with a sheild eff enhancer and a disruptor with an armor enhancer on your ship. put each in a different weapon groups. Bind the SPACEBAR to switch weapon groups.

As you close in use the Ion to take out the shields and the "spacebar" to swap weapon to disruptor and pund away at the armor. This will allow you, keep firing your single weapon w/o draining the capacitor, and the one enhanced weapon will be as good as the 2 you have now, and yu can shoot longer.

See? This is why I love JTL. So many ways to accomplish what you want.

You can also join everyone else in abusing weapon overload 3 until it is fixed. Cuts capacitor usage on each weapon to about a third (instead of increasing it).

I was wondering if this was a bug. But its such a nice one that i didn't want to ask. Ya def get weapon overload 3 best of both worlds

As a Rebel pilot I have a few question about non-Rebel programs. I know that at level 4 you decay your equipment, is any damage (i.e. repairable damage) done with level three?

Also, how many times can you use a programmed droid chip? For instance if I get WO3 programmed onto a chip can I use the same chip to program both an Astromech and a FC or do I need two chips with WO3?

Nope to the first, I run with level 3 all the time to overcharge my capacitor, engine, weapons, and reactor, no decay results. Damage is another story from using the proggies, as well as when I jump into a swarm of tier 5's. And lose sometimes (I'm an Ace, but certainly not invulnerable!). But using level 3 programs doesn't screw up your components.

Once is the answer to the second, when you program a chip into a droid, I think you can delete the program from the droid (not sure there, never tried) but you can't reuse the chip. So yeah, you'd have to get two chips, once for the computer, once for your little mechanical buddy.

Pilots are pretty good about this stuff I love helping fellow pilots. Heck, fellow players.

...even if it still surprised me the time I jumped into a battle with a bunch of tier 4 pirates, wasn't even paying attention to who was around me I just wanted the points for 'em, killed 'em off and here's a 'TY, they about had me!' /tell. I find out who's thanking me (after answering with a 'NP, didn't even know you were there, hope I didn't screw up a mission for ya?') that the pilot was in an X-wing.

Not that it changed anything about my feelings about helping him, heck, he's a fellow player. Who I might shoot down one of these days in deep space with my Oppressor

First question:
All overload programs do damage to your components. Decay doesn't result from Overload level 4, but from the repairing the damage later at a space station. If you go to Deepspace to repair, also the Overload 4 don't cause decay.
Theres a bug/feature with space station repair: If you repair 10 or less points of damage, the maximum condition is not reduced. If you repair more, then its reduced by 10% of the repaired damage. For example if you repair 15 damage, then your maximum condition is reduced by 1.5 points. Its not reduced if you repair 9 points damage, even though 0.9 would be possible, but it isn't done.

Thats the reason Overload 3 don't cause permanent damage, because they damage your components for about 8 points damage, while the level 4 are way over 10, most do 16 or i think Reactor Overload 4 does 30 points damage.

If you have Overload 3 running, and land without repairing, and launch again and overlaod 3 again, then you have 16 points damage total, and it WILL decay 1.6 points. Thats why you should repair always before landing.
Also of course if you get aditional damage from combat, that pushes your damage over the 10 points treshhold ALL damage will cause decay. (like you take 3 additional points of combat damage, raising it at 11 (you have 8 from overload), then you decay 1.1 points)

For your second question: The chip is destroyed when you use it in a FC or droid, if you delete the program from teh FC or droid its gone.
So yes, you need 2 versions of WO3 if you want to program both.
