Thread: Petition: Bump up the mass on the Royal Guard TIE Interceptor
As a TIE Interceptor pilot, I'm drooling over the RGI. The problem is the originalJTL ships were somewhat close to being balanced, and then the introduction of the RotW ships threw balance out the window. Comparing anything to the Actis or B-22 is going to give you a skewed idea of what's good and what isn't. Lots of us would love to see the Actis and B-22 brought down significantly in mass.
As for the RGI, at that mass one gun slot is perfect. PvP damage isn't like PvE, so one gun will do you just fine. In fact, first thing I'd probably do in an RGI is ditch my level 7 (which works fine for PvP) and throw on a level 8 cannon. Swap to a two gun ship if you're going PVEing.
Considering how the ship handles, the mass and single gunpoint are fairly balanced.

Maybe it's just me, but (glitches aside) I don't see the strength of the RGI when held up to the much-easier-to-getEta-2. Yes, it's clearly better than anything a shipwright could give you below Ace, but I just find the lower mass and single gun to be a hinderance. Maybe it's time for me to go back to the drawing board...
Personaly, i would give up 10K mass off of it if it meant getting a 2nd gun slot.

Why not? How now id use it for PvE as well as PvP - hell, id never fly anything else ever again

To be honest, if that were the case, I might just choose to ditch the goody two shoes A-wing devotee routine and join you. My allegience will always be to the sexiest ship and I'm sorry to say but a two weapon slotted 70k mass TIE Interceptor (which was the right colour) would be...sex on solarpanels.
Hmm wait though, I do enjoy beingseen as some kind ofprotaganist in the eyes of some people. I'll stick with my A-wing.
