Something else to try (disclaimer: I haven't actually tried this) would be to carry a spare reactor and engine with you at all times. If you get blown up and cannot get V-repair to get you mobile, land and swap out the reactor/engine combo. That should get you to Deep Space to get your other systems repaired. This will also give you fresh components to V-repair your old engine/reactor with to get those into deep space.

This should also work for Imps and Freelancers who don't have V-repair to begin with.

if i get bad damage eng or rec down all i do is land and use a kit get them back the go to ds

Good idea. I get blown up so seldom, I honestly forget about vrepair. Thanks for the tip.

Well my grandpa had the best idea about troubles like these, the best way to get out of trouble is NOT TO GET INTO TROUBLE IN THE FIRST PLACE. Looks like you need more practice as a pilot to keep your pasted Butt in your ship. Or go for better shields,take a look at your other components to see what you can do to keep your ship alive.

keep a regular check on your servers trade forums, sometimes people sell them, however like everyoen else said, it dosnt make much difference.
