Thread: Can we up the component drop rate in Deep Space?

I almost always get 40-50 components from a tier 4 duty of 315 ships. I would peg the droprate at about 1/7 on tier 4s. Ran a couple just tonight and got right around 90 components, so with a test sample of over 600 ships, everything seems the same to me.
I've done duty missions too, for cash. This thread is about the drop loot in DEEP SPACE. These are supposed to be the most elite NPCs in JTL. They shouldn't be dropping anything lower than L7 or L8. The only exception I can make is the L4 Nolvadex Hypernova Booster. What about the ISD? I bet that thing has an awsome capacitor. I want it.
That is a tier 2 Rebel mission reward, won't drop anywhere.

I spend about 70 percentof my time in space since the release of JTL, and haven't noticed any changes in droprates since then. Some days are better than others, but that's it.
Loot drops are fine as they are.

Well I've never found DS to be anything but garbage for loot.
I just spent the last 2 hours in DS .. after killing many vettes, all thier escorts, a handfull of gunboats, and many random fighter groups the sum total of my loot after 2 hours is:
1 level 4 blaster
1 level 7 armor
1 level 10 reactor (with 56k mass and 9k power generation)
That's rediculous when in 2 hours of tier 4 duties I can fill my inven with all sorts of decent loot and a handfull of decent lv 8 to 10 components.
The problem is I'm looting more, and better lv 8 to 10's from T4 duties than the same time in DS with nothing but T5's
DS is IMO droping at a culled high level loot rate, but is still dropping low level components using that high level rate.
I'll say it again, we don't really need opinions and single run reports of DS to push for a change, we'd need facts. We can state opinions all you want, but there are two factors at work that yall seem to be forgetting.
First,a tier4 Duty is a concentrated flow of enemies, and kills are far faster and more frequent than DS. This increases the number of rolls you have on the loot table. Between gaps looking for foes, and the fact that each kill takes longer, 2hours in DS in no way shape or form equates to two hours of a Duty. Anyone who is serious about pushing for a change in DS drops would do the following:
Take a tier4 duty and count the ships. Perform that duty (at least) 4 times and mark the results of loot quantity and quality.
Then fly in DS farming as long as it takes to get the same number of kills as one of the t4 duties. Count your loot and log it. Repeat that 4 more times, over as many play sessions as you care to take. What counts is the number of ships, not the time it takes.
If you get a final result that says DS is drastically lower in quantity and quality (drops for t5 are supposed the be a certain amount lower, but more than 20% is what I'd consider unsual).
Second, DS is a PvP zone, by intent you aren't supposed to be there farming anyway. The mobs are meant as a sort of hazardous obstacle, when the sector is being used for its intended purpose. If the loot tables are skewed to penalize farming, I'm almost of the opinion that's a good thing.
Basically, any limited report that doesnt back up the claims that DS drops less than it should without a valid set of data, is just anecdotal evidence. And there's no way you can expectTomo to go to the Devs and push for a change.
I mean, really - besides PvP, what's the friggin' point besides more strain on the server farm for nothing?
