Find a SW with good resources and tell them what you want. To get the energy, you'll want them to use a Heavy Battery subcomponent. Here are some example capacitors to give you an idea what to ask for:

Mark I - 1k mass 966 cap energy 27.8 recharge (10/0)
Mark II - 2.4k mass 1053 cap energy 32 recharge (10/0)
Mark II - 2.4k mass 1k cap energy 33.7 recharge (7/3)*
Mark III - 6k mass 1165 cap energy 34.8 recharge (10/0)
Mark III - 6k mass 1108 cap energy 37 recharge (7/3)*
Mark III - 6k mass 1011 cap energy 40.9 recharge (2/8)
Mark IV - 15k mass 1335 cap energy 38 recharge (10/0)
Mark IV - 15k mass 1204 cap energy 43.7 recharge (4/6)*
Mark IV - 15k mass 1116 cap energy 47.4 recharge (0/10)

The (#/#) at the end is the number of experimentation points in capacitor energy and recharge on the cap itself. On the heavy battery, maximize the number of points in capacitor energy. The example below has 9 in cap energy on the heavy battery.

The ones marked with the * are the ones I tend to make.

Before everyone jumps all over these with their even-leveled REd capacitors, yes your caps are better. REd caps can be made that weigh less, have better energy, and better recharge than crafted. I only use REd caps myself. You just have to farm the parts. Until you get one together, the crafted ones are quite capable.

Ido not understand why Pilots are so hard up about the energy capacity. With CO4 doubling it, I'd rather pump enhancer and experimentation into regen.

I have a TypeIV with only about 830 energy, but a regen of 52.8. When I CO that thing, I can unleash hell itself with my WO2'd three gun setup of Speed Experimented Blasters and keep the stream going nearly constantly, because the overloaded regen is almost enough to balance the output of the weapons.

I have done some with Energy Cap enhancers and experimentation into Regen which brings me around 1123energy with a 43 Regen, but the result is almost always less than impressive.

Yeah, I perfer a good Recharge over Energy. For new pilots, I'll typically do a Heavy battery and then max RR for them since they don't have droids yet. The Cap in all my fighters except my Firespray is a Mark I with quick charge and maxed regen, with CO4 and no WO active the needle never drops even with dual guns. Doesn't leave alot of power for shunting, but that's fine with me.

With a super fast DI, it may be less important. I'd need to see if I can get a cap that can regen almost 100% of its capacity inbetween CTSS's even with me firing all my weapons. However, if you're running a 2400f/b shield, it's very nice to be able to CTSS the vast majority of it back in one shunt.

Yeah, I actually RE'd a L2 that has 1100 max energy and 40 recharge, but it's pretty heavy and sucks energy for a L2.

The new one I'm making will end up with 41 recharge and about 900 energy post-RE, but the mass and energy are REALLY low (about 600 drain and 1100 mass).

To me, the decrease in drain and mass more than makes up for the relatively low energy since I use CO. With a pre-nerf 12.1 speed DI, the capacitor never has time to regen up to max under heavy shunting anyways.

Of course, I wouldn't mind finding a L2 cap with 1000+ energy AND 40+ recharge to marry with my low drain/mass one.

I use the following level 10 capacitor...

Overstar Industries Overlord-Class Capacitor

With CO4 running I can dump 3364 energy back into my shields every 26 seconds. Its saved me in PvP so many times.

Sweet jebus that's a nice Cap! It'll be a while before I can use anything that nice though.

Go loot hunting. You have probably sold a few gems to the Chassis dealer already. Look for LvL 2's, LvL 4's and LvL 6's. There are some others that can be good but for the smaller (150kmass and lower) these are what you want.

LvL 2's look for anything over 36 recharge rate (my best is 38.3) and over 1000 energy (my best is +1100). I've got a couple of these in my RE bin waiting for RE. These numbers are Pre-RE.

LvL 4's Look for anything over 38 recharge (My best is 41.2) and over 950 energy (my best is 1050). Mass and energy drain can also be addressed with the LvL4's since you can toss 4 into the tool. Mass look for under 3k and energy under 800 (rough guess, can remember the details on these 2 stats). I've also got a couple of these in teh bin waiting to RE. Again, these are Pre-RE.

LvL 6's look for anything over 45 recharge (my best is 48.5) and over 1250 energy (my best is 1320). Mass, Energy drain, and Armor/HP can be included. Mass can be under 9k, energy under 900, and Armor/HP I can't remember at all.

The best allround setup is a under 2kmass LvL2 Cap with over 37 recharge and over 1000 energy. With Capacitor Overload 3/4 running you won't need more cap unless your flying a 3 or more weapon ship or tend to use C2SS really often (if your using C2SS too often look at upgrading that engine or running Engine Overload 3/4).

I keep a excel spreedsheet printed next to my keyboard and before I dump my loot (onto my loot bin vendor) I check the stats of every thing. If one beats the best stat I have listed on my sheet I put it on the sheet. I only keep a list of certain levels of items and only keep the list of the best stats of each of the few items I track.

Yeah, I do the same thing. I have some crazy spreadsheets I use for reference and check before I sell anything to the dealer.

I should post them sometime. They're nifty sheets, keeping track of your best scores in each stat, the best known scores for that component, post-RE numbers, component names for that particular RE level, etc. REAL handy for shopping too.

Damn, that cap makes my knees numb. I can't even get an Elite to that level yet.

That LvL10 Cap is sweet. I've got one close. it is only 59 recharge but has about the 1675 energy. I belive mine is around 27 or 28k mass. Can't remember for certain but it is close.

The LvL 10's are awesome for the real heavy ships and POB's where they can handle the mass.

I've still not been able to make a Cap that compares with even the moderate RE jobs. My MkI's are not bad but everything else gets too heavy without getting the impressive numbers you can get with RE jobs.

If you're going to get a crafted part, do a vendor search. Gone are the days of driving around to every vendor in the galaxy trying to find the right part.

If you're going to RE something, and you'd rather search shops (ick)than blast stuff in space (yay), then do a vendor search, go down the list of capacitors and check their RE level. Now you know the names of the caps and their RE levels. Makes searching for a particular part a bit quicker.

If you see someone looking at the chassis dealer, then stop them! FInd out if they screen or if they just dump parts. If they're just dumping parts, try to get them to sell them to you. I cry whenever I think about the parts I lost before I knew what to look for... Well, maybe not cry, but definitely cringe...

I fly a B-Wing, in deep space, for farming. I cannot push myself and the ship to the edge 100% of the time. So, just so I can fly lazy on the defensive side, I've got a L10 cap with 1800 energy, 59.7 regen. 3600 energy with CO4. 4 RE'd tri-cannons so drain is non-existant. Having 3.6k energy on standby to dump into the shields is nice, very nice
