Thread: Looted High-End Engines?

I thought the YPR numbers were attached to the chassis, not the engine (didn't TH say something about that a while back?).

Or, is it the "throttle level that gives max maneuverability" level that's chassis dependant?

Running a RE'ed lvl 6

90.1 speed, 9.5k mass

73/68/68

its just a bit slower in my awing then my 92 speed engine, but the lower mass on it now and 10 more pitch really help with keeping on anythings tail.

To get an uber engine get one re-engineered. First look at the RE level, lets say 8. So you would need 8 RE level 8 engines. Next take them to a Shipwright. What you get back will have the best stats out of all the engies you had put together and with a small bonus.

100.x+ L10 engines seem to not be on the loot tables anymore. The highest I've looted since the patch that some surmise removed them is a 98.9 speed L10.

For L8s, I've seen one exceptional one on the these forums with a speed WELL over 100.x, but I fathom that was a pre-nerf loot, and an *incredibly* exceptional one at that.

I've seen a non-reward L6 with a speed of 90.9 on an Eclipsian shipwright's vendor, but really, probably your best bet is trying for one of the post-nerf L6s. 79.0 is better than the 42 L6s I have in storage.

I got a level 10 engine with the following stats: 74, 69, 74 speed 74ish

the problems is..... it has a +52k mass! This engine has not been Reverse engineered.

lol so can't really put it in my Krayt unless I take some guns out. Maybe in my YT? However that would seem like a waste to me as clearly that is a fighters engine and then my YT would be much slower than with the speed 104 engine I have on it right now.

What do you guys recommend?

You can find L10s with masses in the 43-45k range. Of my current stock, the Qualdex Elite, Koensayr Elite, KSE Elite, and Novaldex X12 Experimental seem to have the propensity for low masses. I've got 26 L10s in total, so I'm working from a decent-sized pool.

So in short, I don't know WHICH one could be found in the 43-45k range - possibly all of them.

I also have the prenerf freelance reward level 8 engine that has a top speed of 108 (or 106...i forgot) and PYR in the mid 70's with 22k mass.

I know you're from Gorath, so with an engine like that why didn't you participate in Meeuki's Kessel Run?

I didn't realize that Meeuki did a Kessel Run Event. If Ihad know, I would have loved to participated.

I ama Master Freelance Pilot but am grinding Rebel Acewith my alt. I am hoping to do PvE stuff with my Freelance ships (Firespray and YT-1300) and do more PvP stuff with my Rebel ships (X-Wing and A-Wing). I loved my dune lizard for PvP but I felt like I was playing a different space sim and wanted to do more Star Warsey stuff. So once I finish the vette mission, Ill be in Deep Space more with my Rebel Fighters.

Doc Holliday, if you or Meeuki have some PvP event or any JTL event, for that matter, PLEASE send me an ingame email. Also I set up a gorathpilots public chat room. I have yet to advertise that its there so not too many people know about it. Maybe we can use this to organize things.

sorry didn't mean to hijack the thread. =)

With engine overloads 3 and 4, do pyr numbers really matter that much?

I run a 102 speed/50's pyr player made eng in my Kryat and with eo3, I haven't had many problems keeping up with more agile fighters really. My imperial runs a 95 (I think) speed player made eng in his oppressor with eo3 and I can't really see how that ship could be any more maneuverable.

I'll certainly be happy to lose some mass if I ever manage to come up with better re'ed ones, but I am not going to give up any speed; speed owns!

I just installed a Level 10 engine with 101.7 speed with YPR of just over 80, mass 43k, in my opressor....and Iwas able to keep both my level 10 guns. Great for PvE, but I think I like my 0.255 speed crafted level 9's for PvP better.

Once I RE the second level 10 gun, I might have enough free mass for heavier armor, or a CM launcher.

BTW, I noticed that good loot drops are rare in recent days, at least on Sunrunner. Has anyone else noticed the same?
