Thread: Need to vent
Not sure if im a good pilot, lucky or did they change the missions somehow?
I made it to ACE RFS (Freelancer Theed Naboo) solo except for the last destroy the Corvette mission. I tried it solo 3 times and almost made it.4'th time i tried i got killed, went fast back and a JSF was pounding it, so he grouped with me and i got my Ace badge
The difficult thing with this mission is the time frame, plus if you are under the corvette after destroying the 5'th gun the Corvette might start to turn and twist and in the chaos one if its guns might get you.
There where a few missions that got me killed a few times, like one of the first where you meat a YT1300. Me in my low tier ship didnt have enough firepower. I just view the situation and try to figure out a solution to it and i tried again.
Maybe RSF is a easy way, i cant say. And another thing, i never used droid commands that many say you have to. I guess i have still plenty to learn ![]()

Sounds like you need to make a new friend, with a Shipwright. What server are you on? What are the stats on your shield? I assume you have already done a galaxy-wide vendor search. Find a shipwright selling Mark IV and V shields and send them an email, or just post on your server's trade forum.
A decent shipwright can make you a Mark III (level 5) shield that has 1200-1300 or so shield energy f/r with a recharge between 7 and 8. Also, what are the stats on your capacitor? What droid programs are you running? Heck, why don't you list out your entire payload.

people who say you can ace in 3 days aren't lying. Hell I did that with vortex and crimson..hell I did crimson in 2 but thing is..when you master and redo a sqdrn you get a double xp bonus and if you're really smart you set up your ships with high level gear before redoing them and have all your overloads loaded too.
When I first started this game...I was greener than a erm...green thing and took about a month to master havoc sqdrn because I was stubborn and wanted to do everything myself without help....I never got overloads etc until a week or two after I mastered and to be honest they are the key.
If you're on Bria...send me a tell or Akyma [oh Me being Leaph] and we'll gladly help you with your rebel piloting needs.

Yeah, Droid commands can make a sluggish, weak ship into a nimble powerhouse. Use Reactor Overload3, Engine Overload3 and Weapon Overload3 while making sure your reactor is not overburdened and you will not only have ample power, but will find you can turn inside an Awing and put enough firepower to knock Teir 3s around. A good set of componets helps, but droid commands can make up for weak ones. You will notice an immediate difference.
Now all that aside, some missions you just can't solo, but you are not the only one flying in space. You are not the only one leveling missions for your squadron. Hang around the trainer a littlw while and offer help in return for help with the next pilot and get the job down.Theyare in yoursquadron after all.
find a neutral pilot that is willing to burn you two droid programs. Capacitor Overload 3, and Capacitor to Shield Shunt 3. Add them to the big three you have.
Being an imp pilot, mass is not your friend. But, make sure you got the best engine, shield, and weapons you can fit. your reactor can be in the red if you have capacitor overload. Don't load your ship with missles or chaff, they just take up mass that you can't afford.
Ask other high level pilots about who is a good ship wright. most know where the good ones are hiding. Find a ship wright who will help you customise some great parts for you. Now that SW have gotten the boost in part manufactoring, it is definatly the time to drop loot parts for custom parts.
Anything can be solo'd, just takes the right equipment, the right droid programs, the right prep, and all the piloting skills you can learn when you fly.for better tricks and tatics, read all the game guides, there is a lot of hidden hints that are awsome to know and learn. makes pilot a lot easier than you can imagine.
If you cannot find anyone of your friends or guildmates to help, it might be time to think about relocating yourself. As the community aspect of this game is one of its stronger points, specially in situations like these.
Anytime a pilot in my guild comes over guild chat and requests help and there are pilots on... Help is on its way, sometimes two to three strong. Regaurdless if its 3 Aces helping someone do their teir 3 entry, or flying with them for an xp grind.
You serously need to look for a better community to place yourself in if you cannot get the help when its needed.
Granted some things should be done on your own, for the learning aspect. Like at least attempting the mission once etc...
Your components, droid programs and your wingmen, make up a crucial part of your piloting experience in space. At least in my mind.
Best of luck, and if your on Kauri and need help send a /tell to jaissen and I'd glady come up and fly with you. That is if a Imp can help with your mission.

Also, I would recommend getting your hands on a Heavy Tie if you could. It has ~95k mass and handles like a regular Tie. You can fit a Mk IV engine in there - mine has a top speed of 96 and the Tie really flies with it.
Get some loot - when you are going Tier 4 you will need some XP. I recommend the Kill Pirates missions from the Dantooine Station. If you can last through all the waves to the end, you will have a good amount of XP and a decent amount of loot. And a little bit of cash.
On the bright side, if you can get past Tier 3 Storm Squadron, Tier 4 missions are shorter. I did the Freelance Hutt missions when I mastered Freelance last month, and helped a friend in Corsec. I just did the Storm Squadron over the past couple of weeks trying formy second Masters badeg, and it is much more difficult, and some of the missions are very long. I did need help on a few of them, but I am a much better pilot now than when I started.
