If they can't get it to work just have SOE borrow some programmers from Planetside. This is how the turrets work in that game.

LOL, so the devs from planetside got it working? What happened when they started copying everything from WOW? Everybody started complaining. I love this game, and I don't compare it to others because if I did that, wouldn't I just be better off playing that other game?

Kinda like playing Super Mario Brothers 2. You would think back on part one for a bit, then say screw part 2, I am going back to the better game!!!

So basically you are saying that improved turrent control on ships will make this game a Planetside clone? Interesting point of view.

There's a place for people like you. It's called the EPA, Empty Posters Anonymous. Don't worry, the people there won't judge you.

Maybe he's predicting that the Pilot community will be up in arms if the game were changed to reflect the combat systems used in other sci-fi games. God forbid any improvements are done, as that might change the game -- and any change is a sacrilege to that which we call SWG.

But, using a feature that is in another game is not bad just because it's in another game. Gimballed turrets are a reality, not just a sci-fi invention. I think it would make the POB's a lot more viable and more importantly FUN. Not to mention making the turrets in the Aggressor and Y-wing actually usable in combat for something other than a jumpseat for people to leach XP.

I really like this idea... Look at the B-Wing as an example. It has a gyroscopic control system... so it obviously exists in this universe... It would make PoB combat better for my crew, seeing as I am unpredictable behind the wheel sometimes.

Yeah, that reminds me of the time I switched chairs with my buddy in the opps chair he took us for quite a wild ride, the gunners kept up though.

You just have to learn to fly again. I don't know, fly casual or something

The trick is to drop the throttle to about 50%, this gives you great manouverability, the only time you get problems is if you have a lead foot and hammer it everywhere. This will only leave you floundering against any target as you over shoot and then try and slow down. As I say, drop to 50%, keep a smooth action, and tail a fighter. Don't roll, as this will only result in vomit dropping on the lower gunner from the upper, and vice versa, as you roll around the galaxy. Keep on a level plain, and only use pitch and yaw to track the fighters. If you do get turned by a fighter, it's best to just roll and turn, then level out again. This way, you don't throw your gunners all over your ship, and leave them to orientate themselves a lot quicker, as they know which way up they are.
