I actually prefer to sit on the Aggies tail, but you have to be as fast or faster than one to pull it off. Having the 2500 pt reward shield (post RE) is a big help, but I also do it with a 1500pt shield on my Awing. As mentioned, using Cap to Shield Shunt Program is much better than the rebel programs, but back>front works well too. Most of the time, I am quick enough that I dont need either program vs the tier5s that roam Kessel.

Targetting the turret system and blasting as fast as possible takes a steady hand and eye and good weapons, but also remember the arc for the turret is back and up, so if you can slide behind and under him for at least part of a turn, you have some clear shooting time, they like to twist when being chased though. If they can manage to make a long sweeping turn beneath you (beneath from his POV) then you are in trouble.

With a little practice, Aggies are not much more of a threat than other TIEs, but they demand respect. They actually make the PvE game worth playing, as they demand you to be on top of your game. I still tend to tread warily in Endor, as thereare spawns of multiple tier4Aggies there, and they dont have masses of Rebel NPCs to keep most of them distracted. When they see you, they all like to come and play.

I dunno about the guy who mentioned it, but I never consider a duty mission part of the story arc. Like when I first went to my Tier 4 trainer, I only had about 400000 experience stored, so I opted for the duty mission. Once I got the experience needed, I got Tier 4 Mission 1.

set up your weapon groupingso one is forfiring a single weapon. disable the engine, then disable the reactor using single shots from a single gun. Once the engine and reactor are down, dont worry about the weapons after that.

Thanks for that info. I'll try to play with weapon grouping this evening, haven't tried that yet so I need some practice before kicking the mission.

And damn, I wished I've done these missions to land straight in the rebel base. I'm on Ahazi server, and there's no shuttle next to the rebel base, so I need to swoop from the mining post and back, 10 minutes lost sight-seeing

Well coming back to that first Tier 3 mission, I'm having some problem with the YT-1300 ship submission where I need to get that spy on this ship.

The rest before was just piece of cake, even that YT-1300, I can just disable the engine in 2-3 shots.

But then it's after... If I try targetting its weapon, weapon0 or weapon1, it just ends up blowing up and respawning. I tried this 5 times, always the same.

If I try not to disabling its weapon, I can manage to stop just behind him on a blind spot. But as soon as I hit /dock, my ship seems to shift 30 meters from him, and then I get pawned again.

Any thought on this, or how you guys managed it?

Once you disable the reactor/engine, hit your IFF scramble, and the ship will forget you attacked it. You can then dock safely.

Also, run some a small mission arc from the Dantooine Space Station to gain the ability to land at the Rebel Base.

well I finished all my Tier 3 Votex missions now. All solo.

Mission 1 was the hardest I believe. Maybe because I didn't have high components enough.

Anyway That YT ship was the trick point. I re-did the mission later, helping a friend. After disabling the enginewe then managed to disable one of its weapon without the ship exploading. From that point it was much easier.

Now on the Tier4 boxes, gonna try solo again. Maybe I'll change my mind after I eject a few times

Before you do, you can hedge your bet--go out and buy a Level 4 astromech for your ship. Load it up with Weapons Overload 3, Engine Overload 3 (Imperial programs), Reactor Overload 3, Capacitor Overload 3, and Capacitor to Shield Shunt 3 or 4 (Freelance programs). A Level 4 will have just enough space to fit all those programs in. Load 'em up in your fighter and get some space between you and the dirt; run the programs (run RO first, to ensure you don't do something foolish like disable your droid interface) and marvel at the performance boost your fighter receives. It makes Tier 4 perfectly soloable.

The first Tier 4 mission can be done solo. The second one can too, but it's difficult as hell without using overload programs. The third and fourth are easy enough if you have good timing with your IFF Scramble and know which parts of the mission to fail on purpose.
