BUT if nothing touches the vette at all, you still end up with the GB's at exit point and now they have an escort too (all the fighters)

I'm not so sure about this. I have no proof either way, but my instincts tell me that if the Corvette makes it to the end and hypers out then all the remaining escorts go out with it.

Been tested by me. Follow the vette from start to finish, don't engage anything. Fighters and Gb's left at exit.

Engage the fighters before they reach exit but dont finish? The remaining fighters exit.

And I have seen the GB's exit under certain circumstances but for the life of me never been able to repeat

Much easier way, fly right up its butt, when shot at hit iff, select sheilds, two missles, secondary sheilds two missles. if your still alive, selecteng 2 missles , back off let everything fly away, again go right up the butt, select reator 2 missles, select bridge 2 missles, its dead, (missles are proton 3's), if ya die do dont sweat it run back and start where ya left off.

They do not 100% of the time.

I have found the GB's at exit many times. Have had them keep a spawn from happening and be at exit for over 2 hours. The Rebel "Corellian Corvette" gunboats seem to jump out more often then the Imperial ones.

Original post has been revised. It now addresses the gunboat dilemma and gives the exit waypoint of the vette.

Me personally? I've done it in an Awing, Xwing, and Firespray, though if you stick to the guide pretty strictly, I don't see why it wouldn't be possible in any ship. Ships that are more maneuverable can obviously take less hits, but ships with more firepower can take out the systems faster and leavesooner, so it's a trade off. My favorite is the Awing because I can do the whole thing without taking a single hit. (Smaller ship profiles = better)

Come to think of it, I haven't soloed it in a multipassenger yet, though I'm sure it's just as feasible. Someone proposed taking out gun 5 in a multi and then matching speed with the vette just behind the bridge and taking out the shield gens from there. Not sure if it's as simple as it sounds, but I'll give it a try soon.

what was your config on your a/x wing? i got a lv 8 gun, 1.8k shield and a post nerfed quest engine, and my xwing has 2 lv 7 guns, 2.4k shield and the same engine, i havn't tried it with an a-wing yet but with my x and y wing i get wasted before i get in range to fire at the shields

My awing has a lv7 REd gun, and 1780 front/back shields. I used the same shielding on my xwing when I soloed the vette. Tidu, the person who taught me how to solo it, had 1k front/back shields and no armor on his xwing. If you have that much shielding and you're dying that quickly, you must be flying straight at gun 5. Unfortunately, since the npc fighters are not very intelligent, this has promoted the "fly straight at everything and shoot" mentality amongst most pilots. You can not afford to do this with any capital ship. You must continuously make minor changes in your course so that the hits miss. Either roll or jink (move up/down/left/right in a random pattern to become a harder target) in order to ensure that the guns will not hit you.

Ifyou're right next to the vette/gunboats,you can stilljink like crazy so that nothing ever hits you if you're in a small/maneuverable enough fighter. Only straighten your course to shootonce thesystem you targetedis in blaster range.

Nokilo,

Thanks for writing this up....It really does sound great. I sent you a PM in these boards as well....I was curious as to your thoughts on that.

I will also try to meet up with you in game.

Great work!
