The Protecto-net is a level 8 equipment cert but a level 7 RE'd cert. So you need 6 more of any level 7 RE cert shields. They don't have to be Protecto-Nets.

As a crafted level 7 shield will reach 1900/1900 protection easily with a regen of near 10. I'd look for Protecto-Nets with higher shield energy and higher recharge. i have seen as high as 16 recharge on a protecto-net.

I RE'd mine with the protecto-net first. The only draw back I can see is that it will make the Cert level 8. If you put a non- Protecto-Net in first the cert level will be the same as whatever that shield is. (Usually 7).

BTW I checked out some of your art you have with the vaksai picks...great stuff!!

Protecto nets have an unusually high chance at very high hit points, thats the only thing that makes them desirable for RE. Recharge is typical of L7 shield loots.

the point is, you should take your typical Mark IV crafted shield as the baseline, and work to beat it in EVERY category. don't settle. Use 2 of your protecto nets if one is high on front HP and the other high on rear. use one of the rewards if it is your best recharge, but look at any L7 loot shield.

Make sure each sheild you put in the mix is the best for something. Once you have all stats covered, anything shortfall is for filler. Most protecto nets end up being filler. you may have 4, but if they aren't 4 good ones, they're no different than other L7 shields.

The hardest part is mass. Finding a loot that will beat a crafted is critical, and not easy to do.

Ideally your looking to end up with a shield that is 15k mass, 2k+ f/b, high recharge, and last but not least, low drain. The crafted sacrifices drain for high HP, and with a good RE you can easily save 1k or more.

Note: unless you plan to leave it laying around and really like the outer skin of the P-net, do not put one of them into the RE tool first. The fact that it's L7 RE and L8 cert makes the difference between using it at tier3 and using at tier4 if you ever decide to regrind pilot, so you're better of making the uber shield with as low as cert as you can.

Thanks, been doing 3D as a hobby for a while now, just finally quit my fulltime job to make the switch to doing 3D as my new source of income. Website coming soon
