Thread: arrrrrgh drunken bumble bee lag is back
I'm curious, what network cards do the people having these issues have?
If you have onboard network look on your motherboard for a chip that has some identification (name or picture) that you associate with network cards. Such as Realtek, Netgear, Intel, 3Com, Linksys, GLink, and so on. Look at CompUSA's site for more ideas. Btw the Realtek "symbol"/logo is a crab holding it's claws up in the air.
OMG OMG OMG, I found a thread about this problem!!! It's not only me!!! and it's not my gamepad's fault!!! I have an NForce 2 motherboard, so that network card. I believe I have the most up to date drivers for it. I'll try some of the things here. I am just happy to have something to try.
I bought the game on Sunday for my birthday, and tried space missions and had this happening every time, I had set the whole day aside to play, it frustrated me SOOOOOOOO much. I have a great ping of 70!
Thanks for all the info here guys,

I'm glad there is a solution.
BTW it is not the NPCs warping around like drunken bumble bees, it's the player. I was helping a frustrated pilot last night with a tough mission. Everything was going well at first then he started bouncing wildly all over the place. He thought he was flying normal and the NPCs were warping but from my perspective he was the one warping around. I sent him to the tech forums so I hope he fond the fix.
I did name my ARC-170 "Drunken Bumblebee" after it though

Nebula lightning strikes are freezing/lagging me as well, as soon as I point my nose away from them, lag is gone, follow someone back into them, and lag returns.
Yup, same thing here. I wish they'd just take all of that crap out of the game, none of that should be anywhere near a planet anyway.... and ironicly, deep space, which is where you'd find all that stuff, is nice and pretty and empty....
